I did not mean to imply that he uses them straight out of the box, but he would be able to give you the skinny on them.

Re: BBC Patriot heads - anyone running them?

Warrior--I think Felber was using Patriot heads on some of his 540s and 572s. You might call and ask him about them.

Re: Conn Brown Harbor crab trap clean up

I think Capt. Steve and I were able to mend a couple fences Saturday at the gress planting in Nueces Bay. We had some really eye opening comments from a few people. Keep the ball rolling with the good PR work. Good deal! Thanks for your efforts. Hopefully we will have a good turnout this next weeke...

CR,

Were your "wing-tips" flying too close to the transom? Sounds like you got it moved forward enough to test her out. Glad you are pleased with the results!! Try it at a pitch setting close to what Plum suggested and see what she does.

I will try to start getting confirmations by the end of this week and beginning of next. Volunteers, please be thinking about your plans on bringing anyone along with you and if you would be willing to take on available volunteers in your boat. I am going to try to provide an accurate list to the lo...

Re: Propeller for 2:1 Belted 383 stroker?

Hey guys, I ran across another boat that a friend of mine has and I have the oppertunity to buy this boat for 5K. The boat is an old Marshland Marine Hull 16' X 7' Built for TPWD. it has an old stock 350 onboard and a Ch3-2:1 belted reduction running a wooden paddle 78 LXL 46. I have driven the boa...

Re: putting more pitch in prop

Depends on what size bolts your hub has.

The 1/2" bolts are 60 +/- 2 ft-lbs The 9/16" bolts are +/- 2 ft-lbs. The bolt dimensions are the bolt size not the head size.

Hope that helps :D

Re: Standard Warp Drive Hub or Stagared Plates which is bett

Thanks. I have a 572 spinning those blades. Interesting that a few folks got different info on the pitch variation between the leading and trailing blades. Of course, I am only referencing the hubs where the blades do not run in the same plane. Everyone I've talked to seems to think 2-2.5 degrees di...

Re: Standard Warp Drive Hub or Stagared Plates which is bett

I am running a similar setup. I am running 16 blades with the pitch 2 degrees greater on the trailing blades. Also the diameter on the leading is 2" greater than the rear. Basically it is set up like this 82" leading blades set at 15 degrees 80" trailing blades set at 17 degrees. None...

Re: Going to look at a boat today...

Looks like a Dixie hull. Dixie was the precursor to American Airboats. I owned a Dixie similar to that one with a six cyl. A/C engine. Angle Valve Lycoming 0540s put out 300hp--Hard to tell from that pic exactly what model engine it is. Here is a quote talking about where that hull design originated...

Great Job! :thumbleft: Looks very good and I know you have to be proud. Jeff--We had one of the Bro-in-law's boats from Rockne blasted to bare. I will find out what they used in the blasting process. It did not warp or porous the aluminum. I performed the whole process of cleaning--etching--alodine-...

Re: Airboats Needed For The Trinity Bay Crab Trap Cleanup Fe

KP and Speck,

Can you guys send me a PM with info on who the other possible boat volunteers might be. I need to find out who is planning to bring their own help(passengers) and who is willing to take on some extra volunteers.

Thanks for the help!

I owned a 14' and ran 4 people regularly with no problem. Setup really falls to personal preference. Do you like front driver or rear, high or low rigging--etc.?
