Re: R blades sweet spot

Waterthunder has posted on here that the "R" Series blade thrust curve starts to flatten out at around 2400 RPM's.
It does continue to gain thrust but much more slowly. Just passin on some info I read here. BTW I love my R blades on my boat.

I have a similar combo that does well. What Prop are you gonna run? Depending on the Prop you could choose a different cam. IMO

Re: throttle cable

It should not be that stiff. If a normal throttle spring won't move the cable you have something wrong. Remember those push/pull cables need big arcs, no tight bends. I went to a stiffer spring so I could keep more even pressure on the pedal bouncing in the dry.

I think both those are good choices. However with a little more info it would be easier to give you a quality info.
What is the compression ratio? What Kind of Heads/CC Intake runners? What intake and carb? What prop? How heavy/Big of a Boat?

Re: SBC 350 PROBLEMS

Are using an adjustable timing light? You need to have between 32*-35* of total timing at 3000 RPM's. Also it would be a good idea to lock your distributor up. You do not need advance on an airboat. Do a search for timing on here, there are many threads covering this.

Re: Truck computer chip

On a truck like yours you would have no prob getting over 20mpg with a chip and a free-flowing air cleaner. That is with average size tires (Not 40's or 44's). Superchip,Edge,Banks... There a bunch of options. Stay very conservative with your tuning if you are not familiar with diesels, you can burn...

Re: Here's a good one for you? 350 vs 383

If you don't have enough power to put some pitch in your prop and/or have to use a lot of power to make the boat move around, a smaller motor less powerful motor will not get very good milage. My buddy's 500ish HP 421 SBC get's about the same fuel mileage as my 300ish HP 355 SBC. Both 13'6" boats th...

RPM and HP Vs. Torque

Just trying to learn how you set props and build motors for boats. Where would you set the Max RPM on the trailer on this motor? Would it differ for max speed compared to push? If the first question is what prop and gearbox then, if you already had this motor what would be the optimal box/prop for s...

Thanks for the help guys. I had them toed in and then went to squared up. The boat has a pull to the right. I guess I will need some tabs for the rudders. Setting the Rudders

I would like to know how to properly adjust the rudders toe in/out. If I have a car motor boat with rudders built on 36" center pivot points, what would would I set the trailing edge (very furthest back) of the the rudders at? Dead square (36") or toed in (35.25") or towed out (36.25)? Is there an a...

Is it a stick (narrow blade) or a paddle (wide blade)? Makes a pretty big difference!
