Gatorstick, I agree with your views. There is a need for the airboating community to demonstrate intent and actions to address the sound complaints. In the eyes of the State, it would not be wise to abandon involvement in the discussions to remedy issues the are before them. Having someone there to ...

Yea, this boat porpoised bad with the SBC, around 23 mph, too much weight aft for the hull length. I just finished re-doin the hull. The bottom had gouges and dents...all straight, smooth and a fresh coat of steel flex. Boat would get stuck at the sight of dry ground. Should run alot better. I'll ge...

Thanks for all the input. I'm goin to set it level and have the ability to trim it with washers. I'm swinging a 72 x 38 Sensenich wood prop. 3" deck clearance should be plenty.

Building engine stand

I just got my 220 GPU and need to build a new engine stand. Changing over from a DD SBC to aircraft. 11 x 7 full deck with 72 x 38 stick prop. What is considered nominal tip clearance from prop to deck and how far from the back/transom. Also, should it be level with the deck or slight down thrust at...

I started airboating only 3 years ago and I'm trying to pass it on to my kids and others to follow. I've been logging on to this forum almost daily and I am ticked-off about the uphill battles that are being fought to preserve our airboating rights. I consider myself a 'new kid on the block' but I'm...

Yes, if same for all "power boats". S___ or get off the pot. How about this...Share the responsibility of managing the sound. Have the waterfront land dwellers construct their own sound barrier walls, at their expense, to deflect any unwanted waterway sound to their private land... or, put...

New to site

I'm relatively new to the site, but it's great to be involved in and supporting a forum that is full of dedicated people who are committed to preserving our freedom to safely enjoy our "backyard". I'm a native Miami-an for 45 years who has enjoyed fishing south Florida his whole life. Alth...

My neighbor flys 3 times a week over these areas. He takes trackers from the wildlife commission tracking panthers and other wildlife. I'll talk to him to see what it would take to photograph areas and what other resources are being utilized.
