16' marshmaster

I wonder if I can get a little input on the 16' marshmaster as far as the rod boxes vs no rod boxes approx. weight difference of hull, I assume you can walk and jump up and down on them and I would assume they would change the overall rigidity and performance of the hull. thanx. bdriller

I miss my old DD boat, they have their place. I had a 15x7 with a 500 Cadillac and I loved it. It would run dry ground within reason, made 8mpg and was bullet proof. If you are just running shallow water to a duck blind and you are only dealing with grass and mud a DD boat is a winner. _____________...

i have recently learned that the props are both whirl wind props not sure what blades they are didnt measure the width but they look maybe 8-9 inches wide i am sure about length.

im pretty much into letting the man who put all the work into designing a good hull getting his due respects theres been so many molds popped off of other peoples hulls then make a small change and presto heres a new patented hull. I guess thats life but i like to trade with folks that are deserving...

I dont know to much about minis but from what ive seen on these threads some are impressive. seen a mini was a link on one thread subaru engine with homemade gear over in a foreign country he was wearing out some hills and rough terain. i havent personally built an aluminum hull have repaired plenty...

hey lakesteak im also up on the red i am not knowledgeable about ac motors but i know a ac motor place 60 miles north of dallas that has butloads of runout ac motors. the guy must have some kinda gov. buying program or something pm me and ill give you some driving instructions to him.

both are 2.38s have no way of knowing what cam is in the stroker but at idle it sounds just as ratty as the 496 levitater which we know is 425hp. the 383 builder was told it was going on a airboat with 2.38 drive. thanx

i have friends that have two identical 18' aluminum hulls one running a levitater 496 @ 4800total rpm with 80" 3 blade h. the other boat a stout built alum head 383 roller cam 78" 3 blade h total rpm 4500. 496 gets noticable better fuel mileage and is a lot stronger. not sure what hes pitched at but...

high octatane fuel required in 1970 472 ? also i used to run a fuel additivein this model was told i should by machine shop due to the no lead fuel and soft valve seats? thanx for some input.

after researching quite a bit im entertaining this combo for our river sometimes 3-4 mph current 3-20' deep for a full front motor shutdown will transom keep out the wave thats coming? 16' jW 500 caddy dd. thanx
