70k boat and throttle sticks s. Cadillac foot  Lmao so what happened to the snot rod? Headgasket failure on #2 fire ring. Looks like a defect in the gasket. It was allowing water in the cylinder. Pulled the spark plug and drove it in on 7 cylinders back to landing lol fully loaded and even dry...

Re: prop adapter bolt size?!?!

Same size bolt as the original flywheel only longer to accept your adaptor and that length depends on your adaptor and washers.

Is this a joke ? Are you seriously asking about an oil that may not leak out of your gaskets ? I understand if its comin out of the breathers , however your wording indicates gaskets. :slap:

Re: Excalibur or whisper tip?

The 74" whisper tip is prob a good choice for you. Even the ngq as terry stated. The 4 blade Excalibur is def better for your 0540 than the 3. All of which you wont be dissapointed with. All great props. I have the 4 blade Excalibur and love it

Re: gages ???

Cannot go wrong with livorsi. Ive used autometer as well with no probs. Faria has great gauges and cool options. I currently use speedhut , you can customize the crap out of them and the lighting is awesome. Autometer has a custom option now as well. http://i873.photobucket.com/albums/ab297/sidejobs...

Re: 542 Caddi

You wouldn't need .080 over. You can do 540 @ .020 over with a lot of stroke. In fact I have all the #'s for many cu in combos if anyone wants to do one. But too much cut on the crank can be bad on a dd. Also longer rods do not increase cu.in.

Re: 542 Caddi

A "542" odd # but def possible. Anyway reliability is the issue here, either Its stroked too much for a dd with a decent bore or its bored too much with a decent stroke. It takes both to achieve that # and it's bordering unreliable for a dd app. Keep in mind most people are full of shhh it ! And don...
