If you got it "much cheaper" than $5K you didn't get ripped off.

16 ft? BBC. Only three ways to make hp. Displacement, cylinder pressure, and rpm. The first is the best.

Re: TOBACCO
Back when they put the no smoking measure on the ballot I impulsively did something I don't believe in. I voted for the ban. I still have mixed feelings about it but man, it is so nice to go to restaurants and bars and not have to deal with the smoke. My wife used to smoke, and I'm not making this u...

I had a six blade on dd caddy and loved it. Prolly the best all around performing boat I've ever seen was running a built 470 with a five blade.

Loughman Show and Shine this Saturday 8/7/2010
Didn't want to hijack Dave's thread but curious about who all plans to go. Wife and I thinking about taking the motorhome and spending the night. Unfortunately we won't have our boat with us, but might try to catch a ride with someone for the poker run. So who all is going? And will anyone have a co...

I agree with the others. If you asked me a year ago about this kind of thing I'd have said just let everybody have at it. But I've been on a couple of unmoderated boards and it wasn't long before I got off of them, never to go back.

Claimed a strong smell of alcohol? He was checking for your reaction. I don't leave my driveway without my seatbelt on. Through a weird set of circumstances I got pulled over twice in two weeks back in 2006 and both times the cop said he saw me putting my seatbelt on after I saw him. Both times I to...

I have one on a 14' deckover. I turn a 3 blade 78" S Sensenich set on the two mark through a 2.68 Stinger. It does a good job. I go anywhere I want but like anyone else I could use another hundred horsepower.

Re: Best gear ratio for Towing
Prolly going to get flamed for this but you don't absolutely **have** to regear the front at the same time as the rear. Just know that you don't want to engage 4wd unless you really need it. I'm just saying that if finances are an issue you could go ahead and regear the rear and then wait awhile on ...

I just want to say this about that. Rules are rules and we are all guests here. Therefore, if the rules say guys like him (I think I know who you're talking about) go, then he goes. No beef from me. On the other hand, realizing no matter what we say or how we treat this guy we aren't going to change...

Re: Dry Ground Prop for 455DD
You aren't going to be able to run that boat dry with that engine. You quote approx 330 hp but that number would be at around 4800-5200 rpm. At 2800 it may not even be making 200 hp.
You're going to have to get a gearbox.
