Cowboy, Thanks for the phone #. I will give him a call.

How many rpm's does your engine swing that prop? Did you go with the 68" diameter because of the snap?

Cowboy, I keep the boat with the 200 hp 0360 at a friends house 50 mi from here. I asked him to look at the plate on the sump for the specs, but he said it was missing. James Combee built the motor 20 years ago and it has never had a wrench on it except for starters and alternators. It is a smooth r...

I just posted it from Airboat Trader. I did run a 12x7 aluminum airboat hull with a 65 hp Rotax built in Chalmette, La. It was built back then by Tim's Marine m( about 15-17 years ago). The two owners have since split up and the builder Co. is now called Custom Boats (504) 683-3567. The owners name ...

Cowboy, my 0360 is an angle valve with a carburator. Some say it is a 200 hp, but I guess it is around 180 hp. It swings a 72x34 Fla Airboat Prop 2650 rpm's. I was wondering what the whole rig would cost less engine ( engine stand, cage and Hull). I guess you brothers would be about $12,000. Do you ...

Cowboy, what is the length and width of your brothers boat with the 160 hp? Do you know how much it would cost to build the boat today? I was curious because I have a 0360 angle valve. Thanks, RJ.

A Rotax boat would work great for hunting. It all depends on where you hunt, you don't want to use it to cross too much deep water like the Mississippi River. They are generally low sided boats and on the small side. I know a few hunters using them. I used one for a season and it worked great. They ...

It's not 5200. You have to buy it from the UHMW manufacturer/dealer. They UHMW manufacturer developed the bonding agent. I bought some a few years ago and haven't used it. I doubt that it would work on airboats, just too much abuse. I think it was intended for cabinetry work.

Ronnie's Airboats in Centerville has built Rotary Airboats . I saw one at his shop, a nice looking 11 1/2'x7' aluminum hull, with a 3:1 gear and close to 300hp. I didn't see it run, he was still putting it together. http://www.airboatdirectory.com/cgi-bin/hotlinks/out.cgi?id=38 Beaver Borne of Air-T...

Otis, If memory serves me correctly, when you buy the materials yourself, it will cost you around $400, maybe a little more. 5'x10' polymer about $180 each ( 2 sheets). Some airboat builders carry larger sheets of polymer so you won't have to splice the sheets, a good idea. You will have to ask arou...

I called Classic Airboats and they were out of their computer drawn polymer installation guide. I ended up talking to the person who installs the polymer on their boats. He was a great help. I'll pass on what I remember of the process, but be sure to check this out with a professional who does it al...

Marshmaster Pat, I talked to Bill Kline about that prop putting a hole in one of his boats when they were testing the prop. It was a Powershift and he said they wouldn't pay for the damaged hull. Needless to say don't talk to him about Powershift, he doesn't care for them.
