get a 4 cyl if you want "efficiency"…but don't be mistaken, nothing about airboating is cheap or efficient… :slap:

Re: Pump gas and aircraft engines.

avgas for me, I have NEVER heard anybody say "don't run avgas, it will hurt your motor". if it has to be debated, why chance it? peace of mind over price of gas!!!!! no one is debating whether or not avgas is bad. its talk about whether mogas is ok for specific motors with the right compr...

Re: Pump gas and aircraft engines.

found this today, definitely need to run avgas every so often, but if the compressions right… well.. read.. 7:1 compression ratio, in an O-360, is had by installing 75413 or equivalent pistons and it is generally accepted to burn mogas with 87 octane and above with that compression ratio. Take off H...

Re: Turbo or Supercharged 200 Lycoming

if you can easily get 200hp out of an 0-360, why build a turbo 0-360 with 200hp? i know some heli motors are 225hp 0-360. call up jc stanley. he knows a lot about the high hp 0-360.. and gary barber has done a turbo 0-360 that has been reliable. not sure of the hp on it though

Re: Open Boat Specs

Well, for me the perfect open boat would be 12'-13', light and flexible . Medium high sides and some forward deck storage. Rigged for a 4 cylinder aircraft with maybe a 10-15 gallon tank. I would probably opt for the 10 gallon tank. Two high seats front driver rear passenger. My application would o...
