Re: Silent prop for drones.

Only the small drones use plastic props and trying to compete with china will only be pain and suffering. Plastic props are cheap. So the kv rating on motors is voltage x rating so the dji phantom has 960kv motors so with a 15v battery its about 14k rpm My big lifter hexacopter has 15"props and 380k...

Re: Ch3 torque spec help?!

Sounds like the bolts were seized up. Were they stainless? 35lbs is right don't over do it.

The jw wheels are way stronger and not a bad investment. Did the two plates fit with out bending?

Re: Changing pitch good and or bad

With your setup 4800 is to low, you are lugging the motor and only spinning 1800 rpm at the prop. You also leaving quite a bit of your hp since your motor does not make its max at 4800 Id call water thunder ask him what he thinks is ideal 5300 is a tad low if you asked me I spin my ls3 5800 with a 2...

Re: Engine tune

take the prop off... spin motor as fast as you can. if its not getting up to 4200 its broke. I have the same motor on my mud boat and they sometimes do that. you want to tune the prop to spin at 3600rpm at full throttle clean the carb and make sure the plug wires are not grounding. This gas we have ...

less pitch and the motor will spin faster. set the pitch with an angle gauge so you get them all the same.

Re: AIRGATOR, LS2 6.0, SENSINICH R SERIES, ROTATOR 2.38, NEED ADVICE

Never done a rotator to ls. I have done both a belt and ox box to ls. The ls crank is 3/4" closer to the block so the pilot shaft on the gear box needs to extend that much farther. They make a adapter you can stick in the crank but Iduno if that's a good idea or not. The bell housing bolts will fit ...

Re: Need opinions on prop choices

do not think you can get to where you want with that motor. If you are going to invest all this money in a new prop and reduction then why not rebuild the motor to make some more power. Stroker kits are cheap and will be the least expensive thing you buy :) you will not have close to enough power to...

plugs look spot on.. not sure what the AFR was set to. The boat was re tuned by Turnkey with the prop on when i swapped this motor into the new boat. only upside to being on the wrong coast is they are down the road from me. its just a bit warmer than it was when this motor was in a boat that had a ...

Re: LSA reliability

back to the topic... if you can make 550hp with boost or 550hp with NA. go with the NA every time. call up WT or turnkey and get a stroked ls3. they work and there are hundreds of them out there not saying the LSA is a bad motor its not but boosted with hyper pistons or a purpose built airboat motor...

Re: radiator distance from prop

Asked a simple question about distance gezzz, you ecotec people are a bit sensitive. Mind is not made up, still don't know what the ideal distance is. Maybe it's already at that. Ecotecs have a throw out bearing on the radiator muffler. Your computer can vary the afr and timing based on temp but it ...

Re: radiator distance from prop

Where is waterthunder when I need him lol . A big hp ls3 won't last long at 210+. The Ecu does not control temps the thermostat a 160 and radiator do. Car operation temps are fine that hot and they do run more efficiently at 200+ but airboats are not cars. The load is light years different, it's lik...

Re: radiator distance from prop

custom tune with a MEFI ECU, nothing stock about it. its just a ways away from the prop 11" and we for sure have airflow problems but the need for a deck like i built with low seats was driven by my not so young dads need to get in and out of the boat easy and hall a grip load of gear to duck hunt. ...

Re: bbc aluminum heads?

depending on what iron head you have now you might hurt performance. If you have peanut port heads now and switch to a more free flowing alum head you will find your power might come on a bit late for your DD application. a lot of work to save 70 lbs.....

radiator distance from prop

what is the ideal distance from the prop for a radiator? set up the new boat and the radiator is in front of the back legs on the stand. With the deck on the hull i think its restricting airflow to the radiator. Runs 175 on a 40deg day and 195 on a 90deg day. Not super hot but not that cool either. ...

Don't use the vacuum advance. Use the lightest springs you have. Play with the bushings to see what one gives you best prop rpm.... Don't run too much total, it's a boat not a car. Start with 12 and green for 34deg total and work forward. Big cam might want more Initial and depending on what heads I...

Re: Fuel injection for 496

For a 700hp motor you could do one of the holley hp setups with new intake, throttle body, injectors and you will need a new distributor and fuel pump and regulator with both pre and post pump filters. Your tank will need a place for the return line as well. This will run you a bit over 5k. Call hol...

Oh and change the pistons!!!! They are not made to run under load at 3k rpm for hours at a time. Think of it like climbing a hill all the time. They get hot and break and then your motor is toast.

Re: LS3 376/525

Circle H built a great boat for me, it's working out great the boat does everthing and then some.

Only pointer I have is let circle H do as much finishing as you can. They built my hull and metal work and I did the rest. It was a Lot of work and took a lot of time.

breather on a hose on one side and catch can connected to intake on the other. just run a crossover and plumb that into your pressurized expansion tank mounted higher than the top of the motor get a JW wheel flexplate NOT a FLYWHEEL, its pretty much the standard go to part. it would be the dished on...
