Re: Do I go back to DD or get a Reduction ??

click on the button at the bottom of the white square "full editor&preview" then just drag and drop them into the white square you would type into. the square will get a hashed outline when you do it

Re: Dialing in new boat..

I would pull the plugs and see if all 8 are pushing and you are not starving the motor at high rpm. Then check your timing and make sure it's set where Mas wanted it. Then do a quick leak down test.

Im guessing this is a hp problem not a prop problem.

Re: Using airboat engines to fight forest fires

pretty much zero chance of them even letting you try. When our fires get going with a 40mph wind at 5% humidity there is nothing on earth that can stop the fires from destruction. The canyon 2 fire we just had here in southern California went from tiny fire to oh shit in two seconds. the terrain her...

Re: Turbo LS vs 496

they make adapters so you can mount a LS block on a SB/BB motor stand. They work great and are not expensive so that much is solved.

How much HP do you need to make?

Re: Circle H Airboat Build thread

been a while but getting the powder coat and paint took a bit longer than i wanted. so the hull has been painted with a flat black paint. The cage and stand are powdercoated in a flat grey. We started the assembly process this weekend and so far no big problems. 20170831_132757.jpg 20170902_112316.j...

Re: Question on max engine rpm with reduction belt?

pitch the prop to limit the motor, Do not worry about setting a rev limiter in the computer.

just make sure when they set the timing while tuning that they keep it reasonable. if you push it all the stock parts in your motor will come out and try to visit you.

Re: HULL MOLD???

Go work for a boat builder for 5+ years min

The skills you seek are not self taught. Yes you can build a hobby boat but to make profit you need a combination of knowledge, skill, quality, and speed. None of that comes easy or cheap.

Circle H Airboat Build thread

so about 6 months ago i got a wild idea to replace the hull on my current boat with a new one. The original idea was to just buy a new hull, stand and rigging and swap all the parts from the old boat into a new one. first problem was we are on the wrong coast! so i called pretty much everyone starti...

Re: Ear protection for dogs

Mutt muffs work great, the dog will figure out pretty quick that the pain goes away with them on. Mine wears them with no fuss. If your dog likes doing high speed get offs they do float. Just circle back and pick up the dog and the muffs, normally not in the same place Down side is the aircraft tax,...

Re: What prop, reduction to go with

so after calling both the big companies they both said more or less the same thing. 2.3 to 2.5 box swinging either a 80 to 83" 3 blade jx or ex respectively.

both seemed to think the 2.68 box would not be ideal turning to many rpm. that is contrary to what i have read on here.

hummmm

Only prop vendor I'm close to is whirlewind. I'm in Southern California...

The boat is a pure hunting boat so top speed is not as big a deal as not getting stuck alone with no other boats around....

What prop, reduction to go with

So I got circle h building me a new hull to replace my old hurricane. I was going to just put my current running gear into the new hull. Stroked ls3 with a rebuilt ch3 and a 78" powershift prop. I know it's not ideal but it's what's I have. Now I have a chance to make it right, I have someone who wa...
