Re: new hull and who to use

Given where you are, the first logical choice to consider would be American Airboats in Orange, Texas. Faron comes very highly recommended by many folks both here and elsewhere. It may or may not pan out as the best option, but it is certainly is the first one I would exhaust while researching my o...

new hull and who to use

so the hull on the old hurricane is getting a bit tired. I live on the wrong coast out here in California so getting a hull is not as simple as it for most of you guys. Going to reuse all the mechanical parts on my current boat. my motor, reduction and prop are good to be transplanted in a new home....

Re: California Airboat

Mine is the later made hurricane hull. Your hull is slightly smaller than mine so could be a aircat and older. They are great running and handling hulls, a bit funky looking but function over form. Polly is not a option in my opinion. The glass needs a backing to attach it to. Pretty thin fiberglass...

that was the driver that pushed me to xenforo the zenword integration with WP. Our articles were getting no love so having the ability for articles to show up in the WP Site and the forum with comments showing up as forum posts on both sides has proven to be a tall mountain but the beta site is work...

forum changes are never fun. I am just about to migrate my site over from SMF to xenforo. The responsive code works pretty nice across all devices. Good luck on your changes :)

ever check to see what your oil temps are? Might want to ditch the oil cooler ls3's just do not need the extra cooling. I run mine in both hot and cold and never see temp problems. its not like a small block chevy

Re: help !! 2007 gto airboat 350 starting issue.

The starter switch only operates the solenoid, very low amperage. Start at the beginning and work your way back Check to see if the switch sends 12v to the solenoid, check to see if the solenoid engages the starter. Check to see if the Pinon gear is engaging property, make sure it's adjusted right, ...

Re: Two quick Questions about belt drive ch3 2to1

i will second that the lower bearing is a common part. Just take it down to any bearing supply and they can get it or Google the number and you will find it. My heavy equipment bearing guy here had a couple of them on hand.

I run the ls3 from turnkey. 2 years and a lot of hours later and it's having zero problems. Here was a duno run with my motor.

Re: Airboat Duck Hunting

super hard to hide the airboat.... we use the boat as a mother ship for a pair of Hybrid NL layout boats. They are light weight and you can hide with ease in even light cover. Ill drop off my old man and then stick the boat a good distance away. then paddle or motor back in the layout. http://i1005....

Re: I want a new motor!!!

As shane from dyna-marine said http://www.turnkeyenginesupply.com/ They are turning out a lot of airboat motors so they are not new to the market. They built my motor and i could not be more happy with it. i swapped from a BBC to a LS3 and yeah it was a bit of work but worth it. mine gets almost 100...

Re: Idle adjust

Do you have a choke and fast idle cam on this carb?....i always run no choke but that is just me. Even at 22deg starting is zero problem. best guess is a malfunctioning auto magical choke. NO clue by the way how a BBC starts at -50 for you AK people. check the normal stuff, vacuum leak someplace, ba...

Re: belt drive question

i see the most common belt drive is 2 to 1...would that work for me ?...so if the prop is at 3000 rpm the engine is at 6000. If you are going to get a bad ass stroked LS then yes it will work, I more or less did just that with my boat. I had a BBC and a 2:1 belt with a 78" 3blade falcon on it. My m...

Re: belt drive question

That will not work, to run even a 2.00 you need a stroked ls3 and that is not exactly ideal at all.

with lets say a prop that spins 2450rpm max your motor would only spin 3748rpm with a 1.53.

Re: belt drive question

you have to change the lower shaft to a slightly longer one to mate up to the crank..... The housing bolts right up but one it will be one bolt shy of the number that is in the sbc. The LS is missing the bolt at about the 2 o'clock position.

Re: Why Not A Crate Engine?

turnkey makes a good motor! :) i have one and have beat the snot out of mine for a year now and zero problems. They are building more and more airboat motors every day The crate motor will not have forged parts for sure, you will need new exhaust, switch it to cable throttle so a new throttle body, ...
