Re: What prop, reduction to go with

Thanks for the info guys, the motor is a stroked ls3. Here are snaps of the dyno video above if you can't see it http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af180/aeonstar3/Screenshot_20170428-100141_zpspo4rfoda.png http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af180/aeonstar3/Screenshot_20170428-100205_zpsaqyoi9h3.p...

Re: What prop, reduction to go with

so after calling both the big companies they both said more or less the same thing. 2.3 to 2.5 box swinging either a 80 to 83" 3 blade jx or ex respectively.

both seemed to think the 2.68 box would not be ideal turning to many rpm. that is contrary to what i have read on here.

hummmm

Re: What prop, reduction to go with

Only prop vendor I'm close to is whirlewind. I'm in Southern California...

The boat is a pure hunting boat so top speed is not as big a deal as not getting stuck alone with no other boats around....

What prop, reduction to go with

So I got circle h building me a new hull to replace my old hurricane. I was going to just put my current running gear into the new hull. Stroked ls3 with a rebuilt ch3 and a 78" powershift prop. I know it's not ideal but it's what's I have. Now I have a chance to make it right, I have someone w...

Re: new hull and who to use

Circle H Airboats is building our boat! Kenny is pretty cool guy and his effort in helping us get what we want built is nothing short of amazing.

Anyone want to haul a airboat from Alabama to California

Time to start a build thread.

Re: new hull and who to use

Given where you are, the first logical choice to consider would be American Airboats in Orange, Texas. Faron comes very highly recommended by many folks both here and elsewhere. It may or may not pan out as the best option, but it is certainly is the first one I would exhaust while researching my o...

new hull and who to use

so the hull on the old hurricane is getting a bit tired. I live on the wrong coast out here in California so getting a hull is not as simple as it for most of you guys. Going to reuse all the mechanical parts on my current boat. my motor, reduction and prop are good to be transplanted in a new home....

Re: California Airboat

Mine is the later made hurricane hull. Your hull is slightly smaller than mine so could be a aircat and older. They are great running and handling hulls, a bit funky looking but function over form. Polly is not a option in my opinion. The glass needs a backing to attach it to. Pretty thin fiberglass...

that was the driver that pushed me to xenforo the zenword integration with WP. forum changes are never fun. I am just about to migrate my site over from SMF to xenforo. The responsive code works pretty nice across all devices. Good luck on your changes :)

ever check to see what your oil temps are? Might want to ditch the oil cooler ls3's just do not need the extra cooling. I run mine in both hot and cold and never see temp problems. its not like a small block chevy

Re: help !! 2007 gto airboat 350 starting issue.

The starter switch only operates the solenoid, very low amperage. Start at the beginning and work your way back Check to see if the switch sends 12v to the solenoid, check to see if the solenoid engages the starter. Check to see if the Pinon gear is engaging property, make sure it's adjusted right, ...

Re: Two quick Questions about belt drive ch3 2to1

i will second that the lower bearing is a common part. Just take it down to any bearing supply and they can get it or Google the number and you will find it. My heavy equipment bearing guy here had a couple of them on hand.

super hard to hide the airboat.... we use the boat as a mother ship for a pair of Hybrid NL layout boats. They are light weight and you can hide with ease in even light cover. Ill drop off my old man and then stick the boat a good distance away. then paddle or motor back in the layout. http://i1005....

Re: I want a new motor!!!

As shane from dyna-marine said http://www.turnkeyenginesupply.com/ They are turning out a lot of airboat motors so they are not new to the market. They built my motor and i could not be more happy with it. i swapped from a BBC to a LS3 and yeah it was a bit of work but worth it. mine gets almost 100...

Do you have a choke and fast idle cam on this carb?....i always run no choke but that is just me. Even at 22deg starting is zero problem. best guess is a malfunctioning auto magical choke. NO clue by the way how a BBC starts at -50 for you AK people. check the normal stuff, vacuum leak someplace, ba...
