Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification
I put mine inside of a Nema enclosure type console and have a tight rubber grommet around the wire entry. Never have a issue with condensation. Key is keeping moisture out and best way is to keep a good seal on top of gauges

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification
Gmlan is GM proprietery high speed Canbus language.
The only way to go straight marine analog on an ecotec boat is add sensors you need and you can splice into the crank wiring.

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification
There are no marine gauges that will work with GMLAN.
Option 1: Get a sealed box to put them in...
Option 2: Call marinemods.us and get a can 2 can gateway that will run Marine gauges GMLAN to NEMA2k

What OneBFC said... I refrained from responding about AFI bc I would blow up with negativity.
Enjoy your LTG! I am still in debate over LHU or LTG... LHU seems the simplest and easiest to modify at this time with aftermarket parts as I am after 500HP+ on E85.

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification
I have been told there is only a few tuners than can handle the E39A also... so I wont disagree if you can wire it for the standard E39. Also I have had to mimic speed input into the ECM on my LUV... basically taking the crank trigger signal and sending it through a signal adjuster (Dakota Digital S...

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification
If you have any wiring experience you can go to the website below and for $20 you can get the wiring info you need to build your own harness, very simple when you get down to it. Both LHU (start with a 2011-2013 Buick Regal Manual Trans) and LTG (start with 2014 or newer Buick Regal Manual Trans) ca...

LUV 1.4L Turbo Ecotec is a reliable little toy also... good replacement for someone looking for a solid 200HP boat. Also its one of the last motors that is one of the last Ecotec motors that is not DI, its still MPFI. You can make 250HP on stock motor with aftermarket turbo and you can approach 300h...

Re: THE NEW CADILLAC
The 2.0 LTG was designed by GM for the Cadillac ATS originally. Some Ecotec boats are running that motor. Some of us have chosen the LHU which is the LTG predecessor found in the Buicks. Bone stock factory tune these motors make ~270hp. Tuned they can push ~400-450 stock internals. Go fully forged a...

Amen Russ! But they gotta spin em up to get the power to the prop. Lugging is extremely detrimental on Forced Induction motors vs NA.

Re: THE NEW CADILLAC
Torque is nothing but a cylinder pressure... running a motor in the peak Tq regime especially on a turbo will shorten life substantially. Gotta roll it over and let the motor make HP Just like in a truck... reach down(in this case your pocket for gearbox cash), grab a deeper gear, and put the power ...

But if he direct drives a turbo car motor it is a big mistake... torque is useless without RPM... the prop needs shaft horsepower to convert to thrust.

You confirm E39A... which is a Regal and ATS 2013-2014... E92 is very similar... stay away from Camaro and 2015+ ATS E80 ecms Best harness to start with is a 2014 Buick regal manual trans... bout $300 new from dealer... much easier than dealing with torn pullout harnesses the salvage yard destroys t...

What ECM? E39A Or tell me the car and year model you purchased the engine from... For E39A G13 - 2 pin alternator plug should wire direct to ECM X2 (Black) pins 55 and 53 - your circuits are 23 and 25 - wire colors vary by year and car Ill check my wiring for cars that have stop/kill programming to ...

Re: LTG ecotec engine wiring help needed
The VSS signal is very easy to manipulate. You splice the crank signal and feed a Dakota Digital SGI-5. Then feed the ECM with the Output of the SGI. You adjust (divide) the signal in the SGI so you get a 0-5mph feed when engine is idle... I read about near 0 mph at idle and it tops out ~20mph which...

buy the cheap laundry detergent which is biodegradable like XTRA or usually the store brand. Its nice to get a blast of clean mountain freshness when driving around in the funky marsh anyway.
Ill usually mix it to like 10:1 - 5 gal water to 2 qt soap
