It is not about horsepower or anything like that. These days all I care about is fuel economy. Paul Dixon showed me that a Briggs can run ground and by that I know it will run very will on mud flats and i can park in on the marsh that is all i need it for. I dont want to burn large amounts of fuel d...

small airboat in louisiana

Has anyone seen or heard about a Briggs airboat running in Louisiana marsh? I would like to see video or talk to anyone who has and what they think about how the boat runs around here. I duck hunt in the Four League Bay area and just looking for any info on how the small boats run down here.

All three movies are now on my page for those who didn't see them before I had to change because of space limitations. But I resolved that and there they are for anyone who still wishes to catch a glimpse at Paul Dixon's creation.

Small airboat's have caught on already. Mark's Airboats in Franklin, LA is about to put his own model out. Since the entrance of the Briggs Big Block series of motors it is finally possible to build a boat and have enough small engine power to push it.

Which is lighter?

When it comes to aluminum or fiberglass hull, which has is lighter per unit length? Is a 14 ft aluminum lighter than 14 ft fiberglass? I know it depends on the thickness of the aluminum, but what if it is built with .090 or thinner if that is possible?

If anyone has had trouble viewing the movie I apologize. I have been working with the website since I am new to the whole thing myself. But it should work fine now. If there is any trouble just post and I will try to fix the problem.

I just want to know if building the Dixon Twister on an aluminum hull is possible? I always thought fiberglass hulls were heavier than aluminum.

Are the Kawasaki engines two stroke or four. I dont want to have to constantly mix gas to run my airboat.
