Re: Okie coming to FL

So you are probably driving 1200+ miles each way to pick up a new boat. That's freakin awesome. Congratulations! But do yourself a favor. Do whatever it takes to get an extra weeks vacation. Enjoy some of the best riding you will ever experience. It sure beats dragging it back home and parking it ti...

Re: HUGE auction 10/17 in Crystal River, FL

Just a reminder- auction is TOMORROW! If you need a 40x100 air conditioned building, you need to be here. There are also THREE tractors set up for tractor pulling. One has an alcohol motor, and this tractor would cost over $50K to build. The other two are diesel powered. Plus four smaller farm tract...

Re: Temporary Withlacoochee River restrictions.

River still high. No getting under the bridge at RT44. But you can put in at the ramp at RT44 and ride south to the eagle. You probably should look at google maps ahead of time, and take a gps. Restrictions still in place from RT44 to SR200, which wouldn't affect going to the eagle (if you put in at...

Re: Bryson’s motor auction. please read!

How about this. Sell a thousand chances at $20 each. Money is donated directly to the gofundme website. The first person to donate gets chance #1. And so on up to 1000. Once all 1000 chances are sold, post a list showing who has what number. Also, set a date about a week ahead. On that date, whoever...

Temporary Withlacoochee River restrictions.

According to a FWC officer, the Withlacoochee River is IDLE speed only between the SR44 bridge and SR200. Due to high water. The restriction will be lifted once the water recedes, but that may take a while... Additionally, the water is as high as I have ever seen since I have lived here. I doubt you...

I gotta say I am pretty disappointed. We have over 26000 members on this board and all we could raise for
this family in need is $4100???? That averages out to like SIXTEEN CENTS per member??

Re: Fellow Airboaters Child Needs Help

So maybe you are reading this thread and thinking~ that little boy is sure going through a tough patch, I wish I had the ability to help. Well, if every active member on this board just gave a few bucks (which I'm sure we all can do), the needed amount would be surpassed in no time! So don't think t...

Rising Water on the river.

The level of the Withlacoochee River continues to rise. As probably most rivers and lakes in Florida. So take extra care when passing under bridges. You may have easily passed under last week, but now with the rising water it could be a whole different story. Nobody wants to read about anymore accid...

Re: Alternative fuels

I don't know what the difference is between the 91/96 fuel and regular gas without the ethanol, but it appears you don't really need the 100LL to run an AC motor.. Lower octane and no lead, should be cheaper, IF you can find it. Hjelmco Oil unleaded AVGAS 91/96 UL is an unleaded AVGAS carrying the r...

I will be amazed if they get TFC open in June, or even if it opens this summer.
Have you seen the place? Building is gutted. Then there are the engineered drawings and permits.
And the boat dock is in shambles.
But I wish them the best, and hope I am wrong!

Re: eagle water level

So how do you stop it?? The problem is there are too many people sucking too much water out of the aquifer. So here are a few of my ideas... - stop all watering of lawns. They are doing this in CA now, and people are painting there yards green. - limit the amount of water farmers can use for irrigat...

Why doesn't this apply to airboats?

According United States Code 46 (33 CFR Part 183), boats manufactured for recreational use must be manufactured to pass the flotation and stability tests prescribed in the code. A recreational boat must float when completely swamped with water and filled to loaded capacity. If we were to knowingly m...

You may qualify for free registration, and not even know it!

I stumbled across this the other day. In a few years, my jon boat will qualify. This is for Florida.. Section 328.72(2)(a), Florida Statutes, provides for antique vessels to be exempt from the annual base registration fee. Upon receipt of this certification form, which must be completed by the owner...
