Re: 13'6 x7'6 Revo 400hp ecotec build.

A lot of people did the same thing with ls motors....Hell they did it with carbon fiber props. Most people dont like change even when it's better for them. JMHO.

Re: ECOTEC vs SBC vs O-540, A Power to Weight Ratio Discussi

It is real hard to beat that Al David hull with a good motor on it. This boat I am running now is a Marty Bray (basically a modernized river master) that is only 12 ft. It handles like a porche on the water. Perfect for the kind of riding I do in the Flying Eagle. It is probably the funnest boat I h...

Re: ECOTEC vs SBC vs O-540, A Power to Weight Ratio Discussi

Terry that is exactly why I love my 2.0 ltg turbo. Max torque is at 1700 rpm and is stays that way till 5800 rpm. I am loving this motor more every time I take it out and it is bone stock with a performance tune. I fully expect this motor to last for many years with no problems and no maintenance ot...

I will definitely be there. Is he doing acoustic or is he bringing out a generator? I would love to throw down some harp with his strong rockabilly style music.

Re: Pitching the Prop

You can have all the blades pitched exactly the same and still have a vibration. Doing it the way you did is the best way. Perfect tracking is more important than perfect pitch.

That is the exact same motor I have on my boat. Came out of 2013 ss Malibu. 259 horsepower stock. It's a ltg 2.0 turbo. Great motor you will love it.

Re: My Sled

Horsepower to weight ratio is key. I got a 160 that'll out run alot of 6 cylinder continentals and lycomings, runs dry with ease and is a 75mph boat. If you dont like the 160 then I would get the 540 It's very interesting to me that one person says their 160 goes 75, another says my boat should be ...

Re: NEW DD project "maiden voyage"

Definately one of the most promising things to come along. Light aluminum motors without a gearbox. For small boat lovers this is a game changer. I bet gas milleage will be outstanding. I would love to see one on a 13 ft. Al David performance sled.

Hard to beat the all around performance of the ngh. Real quiet as well. Had them on a 540 angle valve 300 hp on a al david hull and that boat would go anywhere

Re: ECOTEC vs SBC vs O-540, A Power to Weight Ratio Discussi

In regards to the power to weight ration discussion the less fuel you gotta carry the lighter your boat and the better weight ratio. This past Saturday I headed out on Lake Kissimmee with 40 gallons but only used 24 of them. That means I started the day with 240 lbs of fuel and used 144 lbs of it. ...

Re: Interested in joining the ECOTEC family... Where to begi

Up here in the Great White North that's like $210.00 in fuel burn with the 540 compared to $70.00 for the 2.0T, I definitely know what I'm sold on. What is really impressive for those that have great distance to travel like you do in Alaska is that if you keep your foot out of the turbo you can get...
