Re: 2019 Mack's comeback tour!

Lookin forward to seeing you too, Gary. btw, I'm not sure if they will be available yet by then, but thinking of doing another crawfish boil for the Mack's ride. If I get enough folks wanting to come to the ride, gonna do 50 lbs of jumbo fresh live crawfish. Any suggestions or interest?

2019 Mack's comeback tour!

OK, so I am seriously missing S FL and all my glades friends. Gonna resume the yearly Mack's ride and cookout, if Marshall and the family will have me. Tentative schedule until I nail everything down is to arrive on March 15, do the corned beef and cabbage poker run on the 16th, then host the 2019 M...

Re: First airboat project

no, you don't put slick on poly. Most fiberglass hulls that don't get beat up much have slick bottom. It reduces friction better than poly. If you didn't put the poly on new, check it for abrasions. Poly causes some resistance to slide while protecting the hull. If it is badly scratched, it will hin...

Re: First airboat project

You did a hell of a job. Nice work for someone who's never done it before. Get a good coat of slick bottom on that thing and you likely wont have a problem. If you do, a cam will help some. Welcome to the addiction. start by either updating your location or posting it in this post. Plenty of knowled...

Re: Prop damage

Always go to the manufacturer. If the damage is to the carbon fiber, contact the mfr and get it repaired. It will get worse and ultimately fail. Dings ing the nickel edge are ok, but tears like Bocefus has need to be repaired

Hunting lights?

Who is the goto for a good, strong, long lasting gator light these days? I tried to locate Kenny at Lightheaded, but his website seems to not exist anymore. Need to get a good one ordered this coming weekend for gator season. TIA

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks for straightening me out on that. I've been airboating for 13 years and I still can't seem to remember that little tidbit. I can stand behind the boat and look at the prop, knowing which direction it turns and still fail at the RHR, LHR deal. Hopefully I can keep it straight now. Lol

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks for the info, kwanjangnihm. I certainly appears to me that the JW is only made for gear box in CM, as it is only sold LHR. Might be something to look into when I van change over to reduction. Who knows. I'd be willing to try it out when I get to that point.

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Ok, well, that definitely helps to narrow things down a bit. Hopefully we can get the new carb in and installed, tuned properly, and move on to the next issue. I'd definitely like to take the opportunity to test multiple blades as discussed in the beginning of this thread as soon as I get the other ...

I will look into trying one of those as well. I'm barely awake at the moment, so I can't begin to think what a JW is, but will definitely see if I can try one out as well. Thanks, FL cracker

put in a T-stat... 180*. If it doesn't perform as you want, cut the spring and base plate out of it and put it back in. That's what I did
