Hunting lights?

Who is the goto for a good, strong, long lasting gator light these days? I tried to locate Kenny at Lightheaded, but his website seems to not exist anymore. Need to get a good one ordered this coming weekend for gator season. TIA

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks for straightening me out on that. I've been airboating for 13 years and I still can't seem to remember that little tidbit. I can stand behind the boat and look at the prop, knowing which direction it turns and still fail at the RHR, LHR deal. Hopefully I can keep it straight now. Lol

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks for the info, kwanjangnihm. I certainly appears to me that the JW is only made for gear box in CM, as it is only sold LHR. Might be something to look into when I van change over to reduction. Who knows. I'd be willing to try it out when I get to that point.

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Ok, well, that definitely helps to narrow things down a bit. Hopefully we can get the new carb in and installed, tuned properly, and move on to the next issue. I'd definitely like to take the opportunity to test multiple blades as discussed in the beginning of this thread as soon as I get the other ...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

I will look into trying one of those as well. I'm barely awake at the moment, so I can't begin to think what a JW is, but will definitely see if I can try one out as well. Thanks, FL cracker

Re: Running Hot

put in a T-stat... 180*. If it doesn't perform as you want, cut the spring and base plate out of it and put it back in. That's what I did

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Sounds pretty all inclusive, Swamp. I very much appreciate your investigation on my behalf. From what I read, it sounds like the quadrajet is currently the better of options for me. I do intend to one day scrape up the money to build a new hull, rigging, beef up the ol 500 some more, and add a gear ...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks a lot, brother! I have ordered the book Deano suggested and intend to go through it completely and make sure everything looks good, replacing anything dryrotted or stopped up. I suppose I'll be flying by the seat of my pants setiing it up and getting it tuned, but I'm sure I'll get the hang o...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

I will certainly do that, brother! Also ordered the book Deano suggested to rebuild and tune it. I meant to call you today, but I got sidetracked around noon and totally forgot. Hazards of getting old, I suppose. lol

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

I certainly appreciate the input, Swamp. In this day, however, money often plays a major role in the decisions we make. I DO have other reasons for going with the quadrajet, but I must admit that the opportunity and price swayed me. I may indeed make the change later on, or I may go all out when I c...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Thanks, Deano. If you are interested in the old carb, I'll sure let you get it. I'll have to hold onto it for the moment as I intend to have the boat ridable at all times until I have what I need to swap the carbs. If at all possible I try to always keep the boat where I can just hook up and go ride...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Deano, I have spoken with blackwater and am inclined to accept the offer of the quadrajet. Just working out the details. I am certain that with a little google/youtube help, I will likely be able to do whatever is necessary to get it ready to bolt on. The reason this thread has gone so long without ...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

That's certainly true, Swamphunter. I've been puzzling over the whole thing for quite a while and I'm not really much closer to getting it all figured out. I've thought that the best bet would be to go with the carb that was meant for it. But I've wondered if technology has made for a better carb to...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Tim, I ran a 72" 3 blade Sig on my AV540, heavy cottonmouth hull n rigging. Lariat and i tested Q blades on it and found it would break dry ground at 300 rpms's less than the Sigs. I have found the Sigs need to wind up to a faster rpm to make thrust. The Q comes in quicker. At 74", either blade sho...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Deano, I didn't see anything significant on the right side, but I will look again. It seems all I saw was maybe 1 number and a letter. I'll clean it up this weekend and see what I can find. Thanks again. blackwater, what exactly is the problem with edelbrock? I have always heard it was a good carb. ...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Not following on the acc. pump, gator. I really don't know anything about carbs. I rebuilt my engine from the ground up, so I am familiar with it, but wiring and carb eludes me.

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

I had High compression .020 over 472 and a cam. The 500 holley I ran had 74 High flow jets, 50cc pump and 6.5 pv. Ran very well. I tried Holley 650, 750 and 850. Also tried 750 edelbrock. All of them ran about the same when dialed with an A/F meter. None were really better then the rest when they w...

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

I will do that, Deano. I have to work tonight, so I am at odds of doing it now, but will run out there real quick and check. I am essentially in Warner Robins, right in the middle of the State. My current plan is to correct the carb issue, and get a few maintenance issues straight, get a bigger air ...
