Re: gotta rebuild

I hear ya, Deano! And that does sound good. I have read all the posts on here and certainly OneEyedGator's If it is possible to get a relatively strong ls engine and gearbox for that price, I would certainly be interested, though, as I said, it will take a few months to come up with even 5k

Re: gotta rebuild

That is a good plan, Swamp. However, I will need to put together a substantial amount of money before doing anything major at this point. lol At present, I can come up with about $200 unspoken for.

Re: gotta rebuild

That may be what I do as well. Yes, it will take longer to get it done? But I've always wanted a sled. I'd like to find I nice 12' sled relatively cheap and play on it for a while

Re: gotta rebuild

Lol. I know what I WANT. I just can't afford it. Lol I want a 14 ft alum with grass rake, lighter rigging, and a gear box engine. Swamp, I will definitely take you up on that! I'd like to finally meet you in person and I do plan to visit mr Branch's business one of these days. One eyed gator...that ...

Re: gotta rebuild

Swamp, You're saying if they provide the engine it's 7700? That is not bad at all. I will definitely call and talk to him, though I would like to know if it would make a difference if I provided the engine. I already have a brand new 74" Sensenich Q ready to go on it, so DD I'm ahead of the game a b...

Re: gotta rebuild

It's definitely a lot to think about. I will have to do my research. To be honest, I am not fond of having an engine that has to have a computer. I can't work on them, and I have found my current engine rained on more times than I'd care to admit to. If it is not terribly expensive to do so, I would...

Re: gotta rebuild

No, I don't currently have a gear box, but I was planning to eventually buy one. I'm certainly down for a while, so I'm pretty liquid in my course of action. I have a friend here who is using CAD to build a high HP 500 Caddy and he said it was going to cost 10k for the build with him providing the e...

Re: gotta rebuild

Thanks for the input, Deano. I happen to agree to be honest. I would much rather be able to drive it down and talk face to face with someone and be clear on what I'm getting. And I'll be honest, the last couple times I've dealt with CAD I received the wrong parts. I will look into getting in touch w...

gotta rebuild

So, I just pulled my engine apart to see what was wrong with it and found a broke piston. Debating on sending it to CAD company and having it completely gone over, ported, bored out, new pistons, rods, etc and increase hp to 7-800 or doing the same, but taking it to Buddy Branch. It's a lot of money...

What are the specifics? Meeting, sign-up, etc. I may be there if I can get my boat back running in time

ok. Thanks, Gary. I was just curious. Picked up an 8 blade warp drive for a CM gearbox engine for my buddy, but didn't think to ask if it was gear or belt drive. Got it confirmed last night, so It's all good

Lol I hear ya, brother! Gonna be a minute before I can afford to shell out that kinda money, though. We'll get it right before too long. Got the new carb in Sat morning. Gonna try to get it put on this week if I can scrape up the time. Got a tile job to do starting Wednesday when I get off work. I'm...

warp drive?

Does anyone know right off hand if a warp drive can be swapped to turn right or left hand? I'm not looking to put one on my boat, just asking for a friend. I don't know anything about warp drives

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

That's what I was wondering about. I wonder, is it that much of a difference, and I should first see if I can locate a set of Q4 blades or just buy a set of new ones. Thanks for the info!

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Swamp, that's the second time I've heard the reference to older verses newer Q blades. What is the difference between the two? I know Chuck's was an older Q. Would a newer one not be as good or vise versa? Should I be looking for an older Q to have redone or buy a new set?

Re: ISO Sensenich Q to try out

Yes, both props in same hub. 74" . Both set to 2900 on my tach. They were fairly similar on water, but the sensenich q was definitely better breaking free and running on dry ground
