Solid grass rake builder?

Looking for someone to build a solid grass rake for a 16x8 diamondback. Not looking for anything groundbreaking just standard solid grass rake with a step. For a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Diamondback is almost 2-2.5 months out and is $3750  Floral city acted like they didn’t need the...

Re: Going to have new boat built soon

I run 16x8 with a PCM/Levitator 6.0 325ish HP, 12” walk arounds, three blade sensenich K series. Boat was Hillsboro county’s . I go where I want no issues. Ran all of Kissimmee last weekend seen tons of boats stuck. If it was me I wouldn’t run a BBC over the LS3 on a boat this size. On a larger boat...

Re: Marty Bray Hulls

I’ll be the first to call bullshit- Aramid molecules have different weavings and formulations. 5 layers of Kevlar is NOT bulletproof. Level 1 armor is 9 layers. Vs level IIIA which is 26 layers. Kevlar is Dupont’s brand Twaron is another brand and both will dent, scratch, crack and everything else m...

Re: Marty Bray Hulls

He didn’t say that the Kevlar touched the Ground, you still have to use steel flex or other coating. Kevlar will wear, scratch, gouge, chip, etc. just like anything else however it usually takes longer. Brays start around $3800 add 240% damn $9120 for the 5 layer Kevlar bottom hull!

Re: freedom ride water?

There will be plenty of parking at overstreet landing as well. They usually open the field next to the launch for parking for few hundred trucks

Re: freedom ride water?

For you newbies make it out to freedom ride you’ll see all the boats that’s can’t run dry sitting by the low side of ridge and in the shallows at miles point! Sure there will be plenty of dumb a$&’s just like last year.

Re: Broken bolt stuck in prop hub

Use a punch. You say the nut is off and smooth bore hole, mix power steering fluid and acetone 50/50 and use it as a penetrating oil. Had hub bolt on last boat same deal but corrosion held the bolt Tight soaked it for over night hit it with air hammer and pushed it out from the backside.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump recommendation

Personal experience and some buddies have seen similar results. I’ve run carter, facet, walbro, Holley etc. walbro I’m not sure I’ve had one fail yet. Carter is a ok pump they have had issues in recent years as quality control took a dump non the less they are pretty good. Heck even $800 A1000 pumps...

Re: buying a flordia build

There is a 100 “ mom and pop” companies out there some good some horrible, research is key. Knowing what you want the boat to do and your expectations. Going with a TOP builder you may not get in the water as fast most are a few months out on builds. Personally I wouldn’t have CH airboats put air in...

Re: buying a flordia build

If you go with a reputable company American Airboats, Diamondback, and other TOP tier builders you won’t have to worry about it not being right. If you go with a lesser company, well you get what you pay for. Air rangers, and Diamondbacks keep their value much longer than others just take a look at ...

Re: Car motor longevity

I treat my airboat like an aircraft! It’s inspected before, during and after use EVERY time. Oil and filter changed at a maximum every 45-50 hrs, coolant is changed bi annually or at least annually regardless of extended life coolant. Every oil change I go over every bolt and insure it is snug or re...

Re: 383 Over heating?

Hit the search block on the forum water thunder and dyna marine posted about burp tank set up. The diagram can elevate a lot of headaches. Make sure you have vented cap as well. On my LS I can’t fill the empty coolant system from top tank or it traps air and will not circulate coolant. I have to fil...

Re: Car motor longevity

As stated above many variables are in the question here. I have friends with LS engines built by excellent builders and have well over 2-2.5k hrs and don’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. With that said I’ve seen brand new “crate” engines “eBay specials” LS/Sbc/bbc throw rods, eat cams,...
