Re: Are AGM batteries suitable for airboats? If so, which ones?

Personally I never run my boat on All unless I have used both batteries. I alternate between 1-2 between shut downs as to always have a fully charged cranking battery to get me home or to jump another’s boat/truck. Or I run on one battery one day and switch to 2 the next.

Re: replacement serpentine belt for a Levitator 6.2

Take the belt to NAPA they have belts and there maybe $30-40 bucks not $100 PCM parts are a freakin rip off. You can buy a replacement R066037 just about anywhere online but your looking at $90 or more bucks just because it’s PCM I run a PCM/levatator N/A and buy all my replacement parts from anywhe...

Re: navigation gps

Garmin states the 742xs has a IPX 7 rating that does not mean waterproof. It’s water resistant to 3’ for up to 30 minutes. 12’ of water is quite a difference in pressure. Per Garmin it specifically states “ splashes, rain, snow an incidental exposure Up to 1 meter at 30 minutes max. NOT being submer...

Re: frogging help

Where on hatch were you frogging for 7 hrs for a 2 dozen?? You can PM if you want. I don’t frog a ton but I always hit hatch/cypress, dead river and reedy creek. Usually get around 60-80 frogs > 2-3hrs tops. Frogs are high in population this year for sure. Was talking with a well respected buddy he ...

Re: Aluminum Rigging

I’ve seen two completely aluminum rigged boats and Quite a few others with SS seat platforms and engine stands usually powder coated with all aluminum cages. Your biggest issue is the cyclic fatigue of aluminum. If you are to use aluminum tube (round or square) for the engine stand it will have to b...

I’d say the imagination is the limits on what to
Plug it with. Holley makes a plug kit for vacuum ports as do many others. Whatever you use make sure it’s good quality and 100% sealed. Getting a stumble and chasing a vacuum leak swearing it’s another issue will become bothersome !

32* total, vacuum advance disconnect and plug. Get a Mr.Gasket spring kit and toss the lightest springs in it so the mechanical comes in ASAP.

I run a 16x8 Diamondback 6.0L (Lq4 base) PCM/Levitator, ch3 2:1 belt box, 80”K series (12”)wide cruises at 3400-3500, WOT 5500ish. And only 365ish HP. I would say your a little high on rpm.

That’s a called a stringer, depending on how bad it is will determine work involved. Hit the search on the forum for stringer repair or hull work and you’ll find plenty of information to fix it or information on where or who to take it too to have it done right.

200-210? I’ll call bs on that all day. Mine don’t touch 190-200 and a water thunder won’t touch 175. So I guess all of Dave’s engines have fouled plugs and water in the oil. Stick to a/c’s

I had a similar issue with mine however it’s plumbing is different. Your best bet disconnect the big black hose going into the pump and fill until it comes out there. Then I’d run at idle and top off, reconnect and finish filling through burp tank.

Do Not add a trim tab!!! The trim tab has been discussed over and over it’s nothing more than a band-aid to the real issue. Take the time to do the work properly and you will have a fun and safe rig. There’s a thousand ways to get it to stop but fixing the issue should be the ONLY consideration. If ...

I believe they talked about this engine few years back, Wayne ‘Huntingbigun’ mentioned it not being a good candidate for airboat use due to the counter weight crankshaft and that engine needing to stay below 2700 RPM. I’m no a/c guy I’m sure you will get more input.
