Re: Cadillac 500 turbo charging???

Not worth it at all other than the cool factor of it’s a boosted Cadillac. I’m a big fan of the platform myself and have ran and built a few, but the cost of parts and LIMITED availability of stock or aftermarket is more cost to make power plus you add more weight to a 645lb beast............. now i...

Re: Reflecting on Maiden Voyage

Welcome to the madness, add you location and we’ll know where your at. You were getting prop-wash and was throwing you sideways. Don’t want to to do that! learn your boat they all handle differently. Sounds to me your timing is a touch off, hard to say without further information on engine and condi...

Re: 18x8 with 450Hp LS3

I have a 16x8 Diamondback SS rigging, pcm/levitator 6.0 MAYBE 365 hp ch3 2:1 3 blade k series. Runs dry all day with 3 people and all the stuff I carry. When I say I run dry I mean I go all over. Now there are limits I feel it getting sticky sometimes. If I was 425hp I could take it anywhere. Set up...

Re: 3D gold airboat pendent

Jerry’s pawn shop in Ocala usually has a few 3D sold gold ones as well as, a Silver style and a two tone one with Silver and Gold. Seen a flat one like that picture as well before. Worth a call at least they look just like the seawear ones.

Re: porpoiseing

There can be much more to it than raising or lowering the engine. Use the search. Have you checked the bottom for straightness? Is engine level with stringers? Or is it already high or low Could be a hook in the hull. If you just start messing with engine angle you could be chasing your tail.

I disagree Deano- Sensenich is a far superior product then Water Walker I read the question as Water walker Vs. Sensenich not which one should I use? Comparing apples to apples here Sensenich is a much better built blade Hands down and you can’t deny it. seen a few WW just fly apart and other issues...

don’t run it not worth the outcome, more than likely toy flexplate or flywheel depending on what they used is cracked. It will come and go usually with RPM but can fly apart at any time. Pull blades and box inspect carefully

I’ve only met one person that likes the Outlaw hull that has one the other 4-5 people swear they won’t ever buy another one. Hell got a guy in my AO has one brand spanking new won’t run worth a crap. Looks nice but the dang thing is flimsy as all get out. Nothing against Outlaw I don’t personally ha...

FYI swamp- old man griffin sold completely out years ago and the new company retained the Griffin name and Dragon trademark and abruptly stopped tig welding the radiators and switched to an epoxy resin (cheaper). And yes the quality went to garbage. The epoxy will not hold up to the vibrations in an...

Re: Wild Country Running

1000 miles is going to be the issue. 2x 80 gal fuel tanks will weigh approximately 1280 lbs in liquid fuel alone and I’m not sure that is enough. It would take a 15-18’ boat to just haul the dang fuel let alone 2 adults and camping gear , plus self recovery equipment as you’re as remote as they come.

All the newest run the 58x as CMB stated which depends on ecm. the 24x isn’t as accurate as the 58x and some new software computers only run off the 58x if it’s a 6.2 or for a 6.2 it’s a 58x

Re: LS 6.2 L build list and advice

For what you want why not just buy a WaterThunder Performance 408 or 418 Ls? Complete carb motor can be had for under $10k and efi probably close to that maybe more maybe less. I know at one time Dave was doing economic 400-425-450-500 hp engines and believe they were under 10 grand. My next one wil...

Re: LS 6.2 L build list and advice

Oldscratch- the Piston to Bore or Piston to wall clearances is going to change based on Pistons! Forged vs hypereutectic. A 2618 expands more than say a 4032 so the Piston to Wall will be slightly looser however both will be exactly same size once up to operating temperature. The clearance I suggest...

Re: LS 6.2 L build list and advice

If you buy an LS stroker kit buy a balanced assembly the lunati is like $25-2700 and some change we’ll worth it, no you will not have to cut for rods, I would have the machine shop chamfer the bottom of the cylinders slightly or you can with a die grinder prior to final cleaning. Valve clearances wi...

Re: LS 6.2 L build list and advice

A quality machine shop isn’t going to bore a block without the pistons being used. This allows them to set the piston to wall clearances in each cylinder. A lot of times a used block and SOME brand new blocks are not perfect, Many shops will upon request but it’s highly advised against. For instance...

All of the OEM efi system can be reused however you will then be required to run a stand alone computer as the OEM computer will not work. That’s where it can get pretty expensive quickly. Then depending on HP/TQ goals, cam specs, cylinder bore, and stroke and NA, FI or No2 the OEM injectors will be...
