Re: Kayaker on Lake O gets run over by airboat TWICE!!!!!

Well I work with the guy who lives with the aunt and they were talking to him on Sunday evening. Maybe it didn't happen the way it was told. Maybe the kid was lying to make the story more grand? I don't know, wasn't there. But I do stand by the statement if he was being a jackazz driving then he des...

Re: Kayaker on Lake O gets run over by airboat TWICE!!!!!

I agree with the fact that I wouldn't be caught dead in a kayak, especially on Lake O, unless your up in Fisheating creek. But he was out in plain sight. The airboat driver thought it would be funny to blow his hat off. Apparently airboat driver was not very familiar with how they react in certain s...

Kayaker on Lake O gets run over by airboat TWICE!!!!!

Apparently a man was kayaking on Lake O over the weekend and got run over by the same airboat twice. The guy in the airboat was approaching the kayaker and thought it would be funny to buzz by him and whip the boat and blow him over. It so happened that he was going too fast and when tried to turn d...

Re: Ford 302sb

I have a 13' Big O that came with a 220. After alot of money and time the 220 just didn't want to cooperate! I had a 5.0 roller motor out of a 91 Mustang and decided to put it on. Surprisingly it fit within the confines of the old 220. I cut out a custom rear motor plate out of 1/4 steel with a star...

Re: o-360 buring too much fuel?

My question on fuel burn is he running marsh or deep water? We run the Peace River 90% of the time and burn quite a bit of fuel. It's like Christmas when we get a chance to go to the marsh! On the other about raising the rear of the engine, are you considering the rear to be at the back of the boat ...

Re: How are the Eco Techs holding up

I haven't been around airboating all my life like alot of you guys, a relative virgin in a sense. We have a 4 cyl. Lycoming boat and a Ford 302 DD boat. Pretty much equal on power only real difference is fuel cost. I like the idea of a lite 4 cyl car motor with gobs of torque that runs on pump gas. ...

Re: stupid move

I would make sure there was no sharp pieces protruding from the top of the piston. If there is take sand paper or sanding roll on die grinder and remove. Smooth it down cause if not it could turn into its own spark plug.

Re: good flowing mufflers for o-320 (170)?

I just bought a couple sets for our boats through Allen's Exhaust. Both sets are resonators made out of stainless. They were less than 100 bucks a set shipped. Kinda of a pain in the a$$ to deal with there but satisfied with the product. And NOW FWC is satisfied that we have "mufflers" on our boats....

Re: MSD Box fried?

If I remember right it was about 2-3 weeks. It was on a customers Cobra so it could sit and wait for it's return cause we had other stuff to do. It was graveyard dead when we sent it out and came back looking new, put it in and she fired right up! Just to make sure it's the box, MSD has a specific s...

Re: First Oil/Air Cooled Chevy engine ?

The lack of any type of cooling fins would be my greatest concern! Cooling fins effectively increase surface area for heat to dissipate exponetially. I believe primary function of oil in an aircooled engine is still lubrication and secondary for cooling. Thats why Harleys hate sitting in traffic! Te...

I was just kidding!!!!!!! Hence the previous alien comment. If it was mine I be camping out on it til help came!! Wouldn't ever leave my boat broke down or half sunk unattended. Same as not leaving my motorcycle broke down on the side of the road, they can disappear. Who ever the owner is, he's damn...

Re: What kind of hull is this?

No where to ride in Venice unless you include anyone of the 4 million retention ponds along side the new construction roads and developments. Closest is Peace River in Desoto County. This hull is offered up for free if anyone wants to spend the gas money to come get it! Its located in Harborview are...

Re: airboat Regulations Sarasota Venice Beach area

I lived here my whole life. Other than speed limits on the water everywhere and pissing off all the blue hairs, no other regulations that I know of. Only place I know airboats are not permitted is the Myakka River north of the US 41 bridge. I also have a little Donzi 16 that hauls and I have to be r...

Yeah it was gonna be turned into a kicker boat for commercial fishing I guess. Didn't know if it was something special or garbage, it's in the girlfriends yard and deciding what too do with it. The prior idiot left it for her to deal with and the current idiot is having to deal with it lol!!!!
