Re: Stossel

I agree with bubba performance airboats builds a nice sled but they are two different beast. Al builds his boats tuff and they ride great in the water and in the woods. But for a all out woods boat theres nothing like a Stossel with a single rudder....

Re: Real Time Thrust Tests with Complete Boats

A prop set at the same length and pitch and spun to the same RPM should produce the same numbers across the board IMO no matter what motor it's on. Am I missing something ? Rigging, cage design, and seating arrangement all play a part in the thrust numbers. I agree with tony 100% thats why i was hopi...

Re: Real Time Thrust Tests with Complete Boats

Are you guys going to try the Q prop on the 540 boat? Like to see the difference between the 2 props on the same boat. I have a 3 blade NGH on a 540 and by the seat of the pants I feel it has more over all push than my old 2 blade Q but I thought my Q had better low end push less RPM's to move on th...

Re: Real Time Thrust Tests with Complete Boats

I would really like to see the 0540 boat try the Q blade out. Sence there's been a lot of talk on here about the Q pushing better than the NGH and the NGH pushing better than the Q. Really like to see which one makes more thrust. I've run both and have a 3 blade NGH on a 0540

Re: *AIRBOAT STOLEN*

The motor is a 470-13a model...converted to 520 the mags come out the front towards rear seat, dry sump no oil pan. The boat also has a powershift prop and was on a galvanized Ramline trailer. Ted's my neighbor and the boat was there when Sara and I came in from the river at 3:30 this morning.

Re: "NGH" VS. "Q"

I've run both and agree with most everyone above. The Q pushed my boat on good hard dry ground at 1500 Rpms when I put the NGH on it moved on dry at 1800 TO 2000 rpm i ran them back to back on the same dry ground. Now keep in mind i also went from a 2blade Q to a 3 Blade NGH. One thing i will say is...

I use a heavy gauge wire and vise grip it to the cage and check it on the trailing edge of the prop put the wire on till it touches the trailing edge than turn the prop by hand till the next blade comes around and if its set right it will touch the same as the first blade. I've used a protractor and...

Is this your first boat? Im sure you can do some tuning to the hull and get alot out of it but when you get some more stick time you'll learn how to approach different terrain and that makes a world of a difference!
