Re: decking a lycoming
Franklins all have lower compression pistons.already checked.guess its just that much better than lyc. And cont.lol.jurnigan decked my Pe-90 for $160 and took care of the studs.have you priced large journal rods? It was definitely cost effective.plus im told they have end play and with the known cra...

Re: Grass Rake Ideas
An old airboater once told me that grass rake is removable because its made to be destroyed rather than your boat.on a sled if the grass rake doesn't fold it'll cost you a bow cap.anything you put up front is drag.pure and simple.for a pipe rake i like a mixture of 3/4 and 1/2 emt.and i like them sh...

Re: 0290 lycoming value
There are different o290's.if its a ground power its worth less than an aircraft.big hp difference.if its an 0-290 g its an aircraft and could make as much as 150 hp stock.they're actually decent little engines.they are expensive to work on.best advice would be to run the # on the top of the case th...

Re: Am I the only one who kinda likes the sound of a waprdri
I think its the greatest prop ever made.I've seen starters, cooler lids, cans, shirts, towels........you name it go through a warp drive ,and guess what,it still makes that reassuring buzzing sound..and if im not wearing hearing protection,i hear it after i shut it down.its kind of like it's still tell...

Re: 8'x4' mini
very nice mini.i built a 4x8 for my son a couple years ago.lot of fun.i really like your reduction.very ingenious.i put a 20 hp onan on mine and it was heavy.made the boat kinda tipsy and it never really performed direct.when i was a kid growing up in the everglades road sign rudders were the norm.t...

Re: New to this....new hull being built.....need to find eng
The 440 kawi is a much overlooked engine.we used to fly them on ultralites years ago.double check that up estimate before you buy.even at 40-50up should make a decent little boat

My dad ran one with a turbo charger for a long time back in the 70' s.short prop,48" wood.11'x6 1/2 sled.good old boat.if you can look up "Banks Maxwell" they made a lot of stuff for the corvair and will provide an excellent reference.he said you had to keep the blower assembly on it ...
