Re: Another Airboat Accident on Lake Jsssup

I remember there used to be a time when we were just concerned about if the boat could run the hill or not now everyone seems to be concerned about wether it will run 100 MPH or not of course back then we were all running wood props on heavy glass boats

And don't forget about the added maintenance. Oil changes after just about every trip out and always draining everything when it sits. I run Methanol in my little single cylinder engines and although I probably don't have them running as lean as possible because they are pretty much at wide open thr...

Re: Help with thermostat, suggestions

May sound like a silly question but is it a new thermostat. If not new or a cheap new one try taking the stat out and put it in a pot of water on the stove with a thermometer in it and watch to see if it opens at the actual temp it is rated for

Hull trim replacement

Going to be making a small fiberglass repair to a hull and after it is complete and the hull repainted I will need one side of the T-rail on top replaced. Does anyone know of someone in the Orlando or central Florida area who can put T-rail on a glass hull

Re: Serpentine belt upgrade

Check with the mail order parts guys I believe they have a house brand of serpentine system that should be cheaper than March or Billet Specialties. If you are just running the alt and water pump you can probably just buy new sepentine belt pulleys to put on your accessories and maybe buy a tensione...

Re: Where can I find a gearbox for cheap

Juice I'm not a car motor guy but there is a guy who advetises on Craigslist Orlando who builds gearboxes locally. I believe he is In Oviedo. Not sure of the ratios he offers but his price seems to be the lowest on a NEW box. Maybe someone familiar with his boxes will chime in. Sorry didn't notice y...

This has been a great thread to follow. Your guys and gals do excellent work and they are lucky to have an instructor like yourself to see them through this project. Keep the pics and video coming. And to think all I was able to build in shop class was a shoeshine box :D

Re: New cage wire size.

Just one thing to think about with drilling the bars and running the wire through it. If you dont weld up every hole the wire passes through it is a possible place for water to get inside the bars and rust them from the inside out. Just a thought

Re: Geuss I'm just hard headed

Keebo I have been thinking about one of the EFI systems out there for a GSO540 project that I have just started but I know one of the parameters that they use to keep the system properly in tune is water temp and don't think oil temp would be a acceptable substitute for that input but might contact ...

Ok glad to hear it will work for you, have seen a couple 13 footers with that motor but if set up front and back the back seat rider has the carb between their knees. Not sure how nice that would be if it spit back through the carb

Re: 0-470 angle valve with injection or carb?

I have a 520 with factory fuel injection on it and works just fine. If yours is all there the Continental fuel injection seems to be fairly dependable. As far as the other things you are needing Innovative in Okeechobee has some nice and well built stuff

I am a big believer in a good quality automotive uerathane paint. If prepped right and applied properly it will last for a very long time and hold up to most anything you run brush up against and withstand being stored in the weather. A big plus to quality paint over powder coat is if a simple repai...
