Re: 2 airboats crash near Lake Washington

Just got insurance myself for this reason and it seems like theft is very common among airboats. And just what is it you have against dumptrucks Waterthunder they have provided me with a decent living for many years

Re: Continental max rpm?

Not sure what the "book" max RPM is but I run my IO520 to about 2900 in the water with a 72" Q 2 blade

Re: gardner's marsh ridable?

I think for alot of folks going to the lake or marsh is just a way to get out of the house and drink beer and raise hell, they don't want to take the time to just set somewhere and enjoy the beauty that is around them when they are on the water or in the woods. So they don't care if they mess it up ...

Re: What are the benefits of 3 over 2 blades

Olf Art it does make perfect sense the way you explained it and the part about extending longevity of the motor is very appealing. Is it possible to combine the concept of a 3 blade and still get the low RPM push and cruise of the wide 2 blade or is that the trade off that comes with the change? Sor...

Re: What are the benefits of 3 over 2 blades

Thanks Big Casino and the others that have replied so far. I am really not all that concerned with speed but I do like the push that it gets down lowand the cruise RPM is nice to keep the fuel usage down, But the hub thing that you bring up is a valid point, it would be much easier to set it and for...

What are the benefits of 3 over 2 blades

Running a 72" Q 2 blade and was wondering if there would be any benefits of going to a 3 blade set up. It is an IO-520 which seems to be fairly strong. I am running the 2 blade set up at a heavy 2 setting and it turns up about 2900 in the water and cruises at about 1500 easily. Would i see much diff...

James not sure you actually know what you are talking about. Continental fuel injection almost always will need the mechanical pump primed before it will start

Re: Liability insurance

All this talk about insurance got me thinking and I got a quote from Charter it seems very reasonable. What kind of limits are most people carring for personal liablity and pollution liability Is $100,000.00 enough for each?

Re: Rollers on trailers

Thanks for the replies and to Tonythedouche its not a problem of loading its an unloading problem. You see I go out by myself (im not afraid of the lake like you probably are) and I just thought it might make it easier to unload MORON

Re: Rollers on trailers

Thanks for the reply Cat. Didn't think it would be a good idea to let even a glass boat rest on the rollers but thought I would see what better minds thought. Looks like either try to engineer some retractable rollers or simply spray down the bunks as you suggest would be the best route

Rollers on trailers

Has anyone ever modified their trailer to have rollers that could be raised and lowered to make it easier to unload dry. Dad used to have a kicker boat trailer that you could do that with but it has been so many years ago that cant remember how it was engineeered. Or can you tell me it it would harm...

Continental engine surging

Have an IO-520 that just took out for my first extended ride today since i bought it. Going around the lake and through the marsh ran great but would suddenly start surging when I was crusing and various speeds. It would accellerate if I wanted to at just the touch of the gas, no stumble or anything...

Just got my blades back and MAN they look sweet. they had a couple nicks in them and were beginning to look pretty bad from all the exposure of the prevoius owner keeping it outside uncovered all the time. But got them back and look better than new repairs done right and balanced and ready to go. Wa...

Re: Fuel injection primer pump

its not an issue of whether the primer bulb works or not just trying to make it easier to control from the drivers seat. It might sound lazy but hey I'm not getting any younger and this boat is one cold natured son of a gun

Re: Fuel injection primer pump

Thanks for the feedback will probably try to find the Facet with 1/4 pipe fittings. The Facet pump I have now just has 1/8 pipe fittings and was afraid the step down in size might make a diff. under a heavy load but wanted some more informed opinions

Fuel injection primer pump

Have an IO520 that I am wanting to put an electric primer pump on. I have a Facet cube pump that I was wanting to use but was wondering if it would flow enough fuel throuh it when shut off. It is a free flowing pump when no power is applied but it only has 1/8 in. pipe inlets and outlets. Has anyone...

First boat I had was a Panther for sure and it had smooth sides no laps. My Gilio had laps that went straight out the bow no curving up. Don't know if that helps or not
