Kyle hopefully Kevin will see this and chime in. I was intending on running the boost pressure gauge off the port at the bottom of the piping running from the supercharger to the plenum the intake tubes come out of

Farmboy and TIGO541 are a wealth of knowledge as well as a few more on this site and they seem more than welcome to give help when needed. Good luck with the new build and let us see some pics as it goes along

I understand what you are saying Olf art. Was either going to ground everything to good solid grounds near the device to be powered or to an actual lug directly from battery ground

Gauge package suggestions

After a long drawn out process I'm about to start my part of my new boat build. I know the basic gauges will be in the gauge package( tach, oil pressure and temp plus voltmeter ) just curious as to what others thought should be included to keep up with all functions of the engine. It will be a GSO-5...

Never had a problem that a simple phone call couldn't solve and the fact that they are on the west coast actually makes it easy to take care of after I get off work.

Re: Gauge or Sensor?

Diggin if you call the Autometer tech line they will most likely be able to give you the info you need. More than likely it is a sensor mismatch that is causing the problem

Keebo from what I understand Norman can do just about anything you want. I had a set built with cones up in the collectors and slightly longer collectors with O2 sensor bungs welded in each side. Not sure what you are wanting done but bet he can do it and his work is top notch

Re: Radio + Speakers for Airboat

Just my opinion but I would check with a local car audio store, one that has several different lines of equipment. I do know that JL Audio has a line of marine equipment if you can find a local dealer for them. I have used their auto stuff and it sounds crystal clear at just about any sound level yo...

problems with slick bottom

Had a friend of mine put a new coat of Steelflex 2000 on the bottom of his glass boat and has burned through it in about a dozen trips to the lake. Not much hill riding mostly just running the lake and every now and then up to the trees to relax. I wasn't there when he applied it but said they sande...

Re: 11x7 hull

Just my opinion but an 11x7 with an 4 cylinder is too small to be hauling that kind of load. I'm not a duck hunter but have heard that all the gear that you have to carry can be fairly heavy. and that mall of a hull could be problematic and 4 people would be far too much in my opinion

Re: Lycoming 0540 pacemaker ignition timing

Most of the systems I have seen installed are using a pick up mounted to the case near the flywheel and a trigger wheel mounted to the back side of the flywheel. They have two contacts at one place on the trigger wheel that tells the ECU where No.1 cylinder is and it fires in time from there on. But...

Re: distributor replacement on SBC

To replace the distributor first remove the distributor cap and rotate the engine so the end to the rotor button that contacts the cap is pointing directly at a reference point you will remember and that won't be moved when you remove the distributor. Then remove the hold down clamp and disconnect w...

Patti are you guys going to be doing some like this hub for the larger props. You guys just got done refurbing 8 blades for me and although I haven't got to see the finished blades yet (really excited to see how they came out). One of those sweet looking hubs would sure look good on my new boat

Re: 540 vs 3 Blade Prop vs Harmonics

Not sure about the 3 blade prop being a problem but I do know of an O540 that also had a longitudinal crack on the crank and as far as I know they never ran a 3 blade prop on that boat. Alot of these older AC engines could possibly had issues when they were in aircraft, like prop strikes and such an...
