Re: distributor replacement on SBC

To replace the distributor first remove the distributor cap and rotate the engine so the end to the rotor button that contacts the cap is pointing directly at a reference point you will remember and that won't be moved when you remove the distributor. Then remove the hold down clamp and disconnect w...

Re: Big props to whirlwind

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to thank all the folks at Whirlwind. Just got my blades back after having them do some work to the leading edges and rebalance them. Work looked great and at a good price and quick turnaround. Topnotch people to deal with

Re: Razor X Hub from Whirl Wind Propellers

Patti are you guys going to be doing some like this hub for the larger props. You guys just got done refurbing 8 blades for me and although I haven't got to see the finished blades yet (really excited to see how they came out). One of those sweet looking hubs would sure look good on my new boat

Re: 540 vs 3 Blade Prop vs Harmonics

Not sure about the 3 blade prop being a problem but I do know of an O540 that also had a longitudinal crack on the crank and as far as I know they never ran a 3 blade prop on that boat. Alot of these older AC engines could possibly had issues when they were in aircraft, like prop strikes and such an...

JT540 what did you find? was it a result of the time between rebuild (maybe moisture caused a problem with the cylinders) or was it a bad or never even done rebuild

Lake Cypress or Lake Kissimmee. Water is coming up I heard so you should be able to scoot through the marsh too

fuel supply problem IO520

Just got done re-plumbing the fuel supply lines on my IO-520. Used a Facet cube pump PN40109 and all braided steel lines and AN fittings. Pump runs and primes the engine but once you shut the primer pump off engine starts starving for fuel and will barely run. The pump is supposed to be a free flow ...

Re: 0540 SUPERCHARGER PROP??

I ask that same question and have had some good input from several guys on here and the R seems to get the biggest praise. Most guys that are running the supercharged boats are keeping them in the 14 to 15 foot range and not too heavy

If you could see your way clear to drop down to a 12 foot hull. I always liked a 0360 lycoming. Either carbed or injected. Plenty of power and reasonable on fuel

If you do a search for prop lock on SA you will probably find a thread from a couple years back. Southernrican had a set up that locked the two halves of the hub together

Re: Atf hulls

Atf hulls from what I have seen are aluminum hulls that are very similar to what most of the other aluminum hull builders are building. Very nice lines. Not sure what all sizes he builds. They are built by Jerry Bunnell JR. in Cocoa

Re: can a ecotec engine be run direct drive

Jizzy, probably your best place to look for all the info you want would be to use the search feature on the right side of the page. There have been quite a few threads created from the ecotech builds and there are some contacts in those threads that can answer any questions you might have. And welco...

Re: Lighter Double Seat Shells

I'm sure my double seat shell isn't made out of carbon fiber or andthing special, maybe just a lighter fiberglass lay up but I just checked mine and it weighed in at 17lbs with the cushion on it. Just got mine from ButtRaxx. Real nice shell, good finish.

Re: Lycoming 0540 pacemaker ignition timing

Sounds like you have far greater issues than your Pacwemaker ignition. I would do a cylinder leakage to find out the condition of the engine first. The issue of oil being pushed out the breather is a pretty good sign of engine problems IMHO

Whirlwind Razor blades and Sensenich Sabre blades are both supposed to fit your Warp Drive hub. Don't have any real experience with either but the Whirlwind blades seem to be real popular with the race boats :stirpot:

I remember there used to be a time when we were just concerned about if the boat could run the hill or not now everyone seems to be concerned about wether it will run 100 MPH or not of course back then we were all running wood props on heavy glass boats
