Re: High School Airboat Build II

Here are some pictures from today. I had three students weld today, all welding aluminum for the very first time. All the welds may not have been perfect but the learning experience was awesome. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/CWAIS/AIRBOAT%20BUILD%202/image_zpsdctx04za.jpeg http://i91.photob...

Re: High School Airboat Build II

We had to extend our bender out so it wasn't so hard to bend the T bars. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/CWAIS/AIRBOAT%20BUILD%202/image_zpsknfgs9rm.jpeg Bending up the T bars http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/CWAIS/AIRBOAT%20BUILD%202/image_zpsocqr6bms.jpeg http://i91.photobucket.com/al...

High School Airboat Build II

Here we go again, High School Airboat Build II has begun. One big difference this time is we will be building our hull right at school. This boat will be a little lighter than the last one (1/8” all the way around). I found an EA81 Stratus engine with redrive and prop this past summer. I talked with...

Re: Stratus ea-81 Subaru engine help need

Deano Thanks for the info, it is good to know that I can plug those off if I have to but I think you were right the first time. I was looking at the dizzy tonight and got thinking about the angle on the connecting plate and it is about 210 degrees or so. I took the plate off the bottom cut the welde...

Re: Stratus ea-81 Subaru engine help need

I posted all three pictures to give you a better picture of the problem. It is all three the hose, nipple and the dizzy. If I can rotate the distributor and relocate #1 like you said in your first reply then all I need to do is make a new mounting bracket for the dizzy. Sorry about the question and ...

Stratus ea-81 Subaru engine help need

I am trying to get another airboat project together. I have found a stratus ea-81 (100 hp). My internet went out yesterday so I'm trying to do this on my phone. The engine did not have a distributor on it so picked one up used. Found TDC of 1# cylinder on compression stroke slide in the distributor....

Re: Small boats and polly?

Planeguy
You could also check Albanycountyfastners.com they were the cheapest we could find when we put polly on. They have a lot of 10%-15% discounts if you sign up your e-mail at their sight then they are e-mailed to you as they have them.
Good luck

whiteriverrambo On our High school airboat build we went ever 2" around the outside. We went every 4" ( altering from the left side to the right side of the T bar). Re: 0 360 Lycoming

Don't forget to check the foot pedal, throttle, throttle cable and spring. If there not working your not pumping any gas up through the carb. to start.
Just a thought, I've seen it happen.

Re: Fellow Airboaters Child Needs Help

In case you missed the pictures there is a long box turkey call that you can bid on until midnight tonight on page 5. It has a bid from Nanug7 for 100.00 right now but lets see if we can bring that price up a little before midnight.
Just another way to help support Bryson and his family.

Re: Update on our high school airboat project

Gary, we ended up tapping the outside edges of the bottom of the hull that sticks past the transom down a little bit and it took care of the problem with the boat porpoising.
