Re: backfire through carb

If you spend time around a race track mechanics do it to aid start up. There is a risk which is why we only use a very small amount.

Be mindful of safety

Re: backfire through carb

Keep in mind your spinning a big prop that has a lot of resistance. Then dropping your vacuum down to near nothing. Our way to test this accelerator pump / lean condition is to get a small squirt bottle. Put a little fuel say 1/2 ounce in it and when you rapidly open the butterfly's give it a little...

So what is your opinion of the new JX blades?

Did you find them to have a good mid-range push ?

I have run both the "S" and "JX" and love them both for my application.

Going from that WARP to the new JX is like putting that boat into 4Wheel drive.

Re: Side by Side seat stand plan

If your plans will include a larger hull boat with seating for passengers I would highly suggest you go to a rear steer. Being able to supervise your guests is necessary. Seeing a problem unfold in front of you is much easier to avert that the explosion behind you. After the headphone incident we we...

Biggest cobia I have ever seen you got the hot spots. If you line shafted that it would take you for a serious ride I suspect if it was not a fatal hit.

I liken Poly to soft body armor in that it prevents an initial penetration and then spreads the force over a wider surface area than just the initial contact point.

Real good to hear, it takes time but being dedicated and steady at it makes the project move along! Inspect all your welds don't rush that part and use a primer to protect them from rust.

Looking good

Sounds like everything is as expected. The wear on the Steel Flex seems extreme but you do burn the hill up. Glad to hear all is well with her.

Yea it's a right of passage.

The tyvex disposable suit helps resolve a good bit if you end up in glass again.

The pros all suit up and wear filters now. But your done and can feel proud of the job.

Yes I run a Garmin 640 mounted on my gauge console and love it. It is a discontinued model so part number is not useful to you but it has a dual use function of both auto and marine. The auto function works great for me and it actually has a lot of the small islands and hammocks shaded in and outlin...

Mr. Schaus we applaud you for bringing this fight to the courts. Your attorney presented an excellent case and Alachua County should be ashamed of the ordinance they put forth. The judge on this case put politics aside and ruled on law with brilliance. Reading the Final Order leads me to agree I dou...

Re: 350 direct drive worn crank bearings

Yea something has me puzzled ? A 350 would not be spinning a Stump Puller MAXED OUT I don't think would it Chuck? That prop was wither a 72 or 78 when made and designed to be enough to hold a 540 or big block car motors output. A worn out 350 may make 300 pounds torque at best I just can't see that ...

Re: 350 direct drive worn crank bearings

Your best value for the dollar will be a 383 with a low duration cam. I'm sure you can find a good builder up there to help you. Stroke is your friend with direct drive. Your engine is going to live in the 1,800 to 3,100 rpm range depending on your prop so the new engine needs to be built for that p...

Re: Whites Performance Chevy 540 BBC

If you are not having a problem leave it alone! The people who have problems generally think that they bought a Whites ebay engine for $12,000 that can turn up like a $35,000 Nelson (NRE). No disrespect to the Whites this comparison is an apple and an orange. A couple guys up around Crystal River ha...
