Tach cable keeps coming loose, how can I make it stop?

Here is a pic of my tach cable connection to motor. How can I keep it from coming off all the time. I can get a few hours in without it coming loose. Now I haven't wrenched it down real hard either because I didn't want to break the internal part that spins. Can I just tighten er down hard or should...

Re: Any drawbacks to having a corp own the boat?

Yeah I heard this was the year because after the 1st you can't just write off the entire amount at once any more. I guess it really boils down to an insurance issue now... I'll have to check on that tomorrow. I already bought the boat for the business just trying to figure out pros and cons of how I...

Re: 220 vent tubes

I took some pics today of my new hose. Still have three questions for ya... 1. I installed this new hose so rain could not make its way in. Looks like condensation though may accumulate in the tube while running in the lower section between where it is connected to the oil fill up tube and there it ...

Re: 520 GPU conversion idle issue

Engine never really smokes at all. Holly two barrel not sure the size. It and the lines from it to the engine on each side get really cold. On a side note what would the approximate HP be in this engine? It's a 520 conversion

Re: 520 GPU conversion idle issue

The tach cable did come loose a couple times recently so it could be a tach issue. I'll look into that but just from the sound of the engine lets assume the tach is right, what should I look into that could cause it? Thanks

520 GPU conversion idle issue

I'm not a motor mechanic and am new to airboats. I have a question about my engine idle rpms. I've been told that it should idle about 700-800 rpm but when I adjust the idle that low it usually stops running. I have the idle about 1000 and it runs all day happy. If I had gears like a car I'd be conc...

Re: 220 vent tubes

I replaced the vent tube on mine actually just this evening with the clear tube with the braided fiber strands inside like what was previously on there. The original one went straight over the top of the engine and stopped right behind the alternator. I was told by some wiser folks to re-run it over...

Re: Any drawbacks to having a corp own the boat?

Some notes I already have the corp and already file returns etc on it. I was just curious about how having the tile in the companies name would affect me. Interesting about leading it to the corp but I think I'd rather it be written off as whole purchase price since its a work vehicle any way. In my...

Any drawbacks to having a corp own the boat?

There are lots of smart people on here so I'm sure someone knows the answer.... Bought an airboat and I want my LLC to own it works out better that way for several reasons. I just want to make sure there are no requirements I am not aware of for a commercial boat. I don't plan on taking anyone ever ...

Re: Cocoa NGQ test day

Isn't the easiest way to find out to try a new prop? Should be instant results. If there is a better way please make suggestions. I know there are a couple blades out of the six with slight damage I figure that's the source of the problem. What else could it be?

Thanks

Re: Cocoa NGQ test day

So this weekend you will be in cocoa halfway lake and if I show up you can help me test one of your props on my boat? I just bought my first boat and it has a 6 blade warp drive and i have what I consider bad vibration and I believe it's due to prop because it was adjusted a bit (two blades half deg...
