Yep still have a boat sold the thurman hull and put the motor on another old hull I have. need to pull a jug to replace the gasket o ring whatever its called tried just torquing it down some slowed it down but not enough I would have already done it by now but Gus made me promise not to do it myself...

I bought my first airboat from Lester Lamb back in the 60's for $350, he said he was one of the first to build one. He was pretty old then. I had stainless the bottom looked like a sheet of corregated steel after years of abuse When it was time to build a new hull the NPS had already closed up half of South of the Loop and left a few miles of designated trails no need for stainless thre now It would not have been a fun job for me to re ...

electrolyosis can also be a problem with using stainless lots of goriila snot between the stainless and aluminum helped slow that down. The rivits used are also harder monel or something like that

What about the step where it says you use shims torgue to 25 then remove and torgue to 50?
Probably a dumb question ,Is that a neccesary step? First time pullin a narrow deck jug

0360 narrow deck cylinder torque ?
What are the torque specs for the two differnet sized bolts 3/8 &1/2 cylinder bolts ? I just looked at the link above about engine manuals and think I got it just want to be sure the 1/2 25 foot pounds then remove shims and go 50 foot pounds (Not sure on how to do the shim steps) then the 3/8 25 foo...

The guy who bought took off my old cage repainted the boat and built another cage. My wife liked this boat because she don't care for busting spider webs and the jump seat behind me worked well. That boat was run in the cypress as long as merle's boat. another poster mentioned. I wish I still had it...
