X 3. Capt. Donnie is the man. Duck hunt with him every year. Whatever he charges is worth it just from the stories you'll hear.

Re: What is really possible with a 73 500 caddy DD

I have a buddy that runs a 14 foot jimmy white with a 500. It turns a 78 inch three blade H. Motor was built originally by bondsman on here. I am very impressed with the way it runs.

Re: Fish Scaler

I am going to build one in the near future. A few years ago I built a pea/bean sheller that works on the same principle. Peas go in, drum spins, peas fall out thru wire and hulls stay in drum. Runs on small electric engine. For the fish scaler, Im going to do the same basic thing, but have a hose co...

Broke a blade on my 3 blade H a couple years ago in the glades. Bolted on a two blade Q for the weekend. Pushed hard off idle but Felt flat all thru the rpm range. Drove alot of buddies boats with the Q, felt the same. Now I have a 3 blade 74 inch NGH and I love it. Never tried the saber, but I woul...

Re: Duck hunting question

I usually park at least a hundred yards away or wherever I can find something tall enough to break up or conceal the boat. Then, I cover it with weeds and palm fronds if necessary. I have a small pirogue I built out of 1/4 inch plywood which fits in my airboat that I use to paddle over to the blind ...

Re: Duck Decoys

X2 on John C. I see a lot of guys on Big O shootin at ducks way up in the sky. I shoot pretty light shot and an open choke most of the time because we only shoot decoying ducks. Nothin funner than foolin them and havin them come in with the landin gear down right in your face. The BIGGEST thing is p...

Re: Where to go from here? (Powerplant options)

I have the same hull as you. I had speed wheelie build me a 520 conversion for it. Search for my post on here about it. You will not be disappointed if you go that route. Also built another alumitech same size for a friend. He bought a Stanley 520 conversion. It also does really well.

Yours wasnt stock James, lol. But they do run good in stock form, just heavy. Its funny, I looked at that motor you had a year or so ago in Ft Ogden on a sled. Then it went to lakeport. Then somewhere else, and back over here.

The mechanical ones are usually only available in six or twelve foot. And the twelve footer is hard to find, at least around here. I got mine thru NAPA.

Last two airtec kits we got, the alternator brackets broke at one of the welds. And one of them we had to machine the bushings down to get them to work. Not sayin It's their fault, just my personal experiences.

Re: Preferred hunting rifle?

I have (and have had many more) guns, but for deer I always seem to reach for the cheapest rifle I own. Its a H&R Ultra (break action single shot) in 25-06 with a 26 inch pretty heavy barrel with laminated stock. I bought it years ago, but theyre still only like 300 bucks. The thing drives tacks, I ...
