Re: JB Airboats

Unfortunately, its all part of the pussification of America. You cant call a spade a spade anymore. But this is Ricks playground, and we all agreed to play by his rules when we signed up. And I respect that.

Re: Peace River Water level

I drive over the peace river and its tributaries in several different locations every day, and I will tell you its very high(7-8 feet above normal) and water is ripping. Wettest winter I can remember. Standing water everywhere around here

Re: REAL!!!! GPU Continental cam specs

I would be curious to see the actual specs on all the ac/gpu cams. Stock, H290, Phase 3, helicopter, and so on. I think there would be a market for an aircraft cam and spring package

Re: Charter lakes

My charter lakes policy was $601 a year for 22000 coverage. 300k uninsured boater and liability. That's pretty hard to beat. no claims. Probably why theyre not insuring anymore. Too cheap and too many claims.

I believe J.O. Burkett still has one of those hulls with a 0-541 on it. He may know where the mold is.

Re: 10 to 1 pistons

My understanding is the highest compression pistons for a 520(5.25 bore) is like 8.6:1. In order to increase compression, you have to mill the case halves. of course with custom pistons I guess anything is possible

Cantgetright, that's about the most standup thing Ive heard in a while. You get your first boat, have some hard work invested in it, are obviously super excited, and are willing to let it go if it turns out it was stolen all those years ago. Hats off to you

Re: Anyone ever made your own cowl/heat shroud?

Just got mine done. Huge difference in CHT. Took little pieces of flagging tape and watched where the air pulled. Also checked with IR temp gun to confirm. While I was at it I wrapped the headers to maybe cool the air that is now being sucked upwards through the cylinders

Innovative for sure. My last two experiences with the other product involved me milling the starter adaptor bushings to make it fit. And the alternator bracket cracked on another one. But these were on 220 gpu and a few years ago. The 470 kit may be better IDK

I get it Rich. Over here they (FWC) buy buggies at 50 or 60k a clip and constantly tear them up to the tune of thousands. Counting woodpeckers, setting insect traps, etc. Also heavy equipment, They build shell roads like its going out of style. You can drive a Cadillac now where pretty serious buggi...

Thanks again. It would be nice if the RYC would try to promote it a little better. I understand it looks bad if nobody shows up, but they are having a mud event that weekend anyways, so no skin off their back
