Re: game cameras

I have 4 Cuddeback Ambush IR cameras in the field as we speak. 2 of them are 2 years old, no issues, work great and easy to set up. I just bought 2 on sale at Dick's a few weeks ago for $109. They now come with a 2 year warranty.

Re: New fish to me

Bullseye Snakehead. Very good eating (that's why they were imported here as a cheap source of food). I read an article recently published by the FWC, that said after completing their study of the Snakehead, they determined there was no negative impact on the native fish populations like previously t...

Appreciate the invite, unfortunately I went Snook fishing last night, didn't see your response until this morning. I'll post again in a couple of weeks, I'd sure like to tag along. Not familiar with 3a at all.
Thanks, Kevin

Re: Everglades Youth Camp mid 60's

Brings back memories. I went there as a kid in 70 & 71. I still have pics from the Palm Beach Times (now the Palm Beach Post), where they did an article while I was there. Got several pics of me from that article in my photo album.

Re: LOOKING FOR OPINIONS ON MY BOAT'S PERFORMANCE

Another thought, what kind of grass are you running? some of that green grass is tough to run. seen 540 have to give push on some grasses :banghead: I'm just talking about grass as in beaching the boat on land, and trying to get back in the water. Heck, it's sitting in my back yard off of the trail...

LOOKING FOR OPINIONS ON MY BOAT'S PERFORMANCE

I have a 12' Gilleo hull, with a Lycoming 4cyl (engine tag say 0-340 A1A, 170hp @ 2700rpm), with a 5 blade warp drive prop. On the trailer, it maxed out at exactly 2700rpms. A couple of questions, the boat struggles to run dry (grass) with just me in it. It does have some kind of rolled on bottom co...

I'm with ya, can't wait. Filled up feeders this weekend, pulled my camera cards and the bucks are still in their bachelor groups (Georgia). Had pics of the same 3 - 8 points traveling together at several different stands over the last couple of days. I gotta itchy release finger!!!

Re: Airboat Must Haves

Assuming you'll have cell service, some type of water proof bag for your phone. When I sank my boat last week, my Son's IPhone got wet and died permanently. Luckily, mine somehow managed to stay dry. Without the phone, it would have been a long miserable night. I was able to call FWC, give them a co...

Re: Lessons and Confessions

Although nowhere near what you experienced, I too was humbled and felt like an azz last week when I took my "new to me" boat out on it's maiden voyage. I made a bad decision heading out alone (had my 24yo Son with me), and managed to sink my boat a couple miles from the ramp. Bad enough I put myself...

CLUBS AROUND LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Anyone know of any airboat only clubs around Lake Okeechobee and or Area 2A in Broward? I've searched the directory and the web, and the only club I can find is the Airboat & Halftrack Conservation Club (Palm Beach & Broward). I did find a link to Lake Okeechobee Airboat Association, but the link di...

Glad you got it out. It does suck it cost you though. Well good luck with the cleaning. Oh i am disappointed you couldn't find that finger nail though.  good one I told myself don't respond to the negative, but the last thing you want to hear when your boat is sitting on the bottom of a ...

Re: Sunk My Boat Today On Okeechobee, Just West Of Slims

Wish I would've gotten on here lastnight and seen this. If I would've seen it then I could've gathered up a couple of my buddys and we could've helped you out without you having to pay somebody to do it. But glad to hear you got it up and y'all made it back safe. If you ever have any problems and n...

This won't help float your boat but good for future issues. But ...... That's what's great belonging to an airboat club. There are always friends or potential friends that will come to your rescue in a heart beat to help. I'm a member of the Indian River County Airboat club and we had two sunk boat...

oh and i don't want to be compensated I am a believer in what goes around comes around. Thanks again for the replies and the moral support. I received a call last night at 11pm, from a guy who saw my Son's post on Facebook. One big TIP Do NOT try this by yourself or just u and the son - it may be possible but much more feasible and fun with more friends or new acquaintances from SA. We had a barrel of fun rescuing the boat as per the explanation above although we did yell a lot giving each others orders during the hou...

Re: Sunk My Boat Today On Okeechobee, Just West Of Slims

Not a deck boat, it's a glass boat. Hoping to be able to jack up each corner 1 at a time, and stuff the fence posts under it. Just trying to get the Gunnels above water and start bailing? The water isn't deep enough to drag it with my bass boat, or I'd try and drag it up on the fence posts to try an...
