Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
I have no experience with any of the sea deck type of surfaces. Any of you that have experience with them I’m interested in your opinions on durability, resistance to staining from mud and blood. I’m considering using some on the walking surfaces. Let me know which brand you are using in your post. ...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
Thanks Rick. Got the metal work 99% done. Blew it apart yesterday and finished welded everything but the cage. I think I’m going to add some temp bracing to try to keep the cage straight while I weld it out. Or just stick it back on the hull and climb on it like a spider monkey. https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
I know it doesn’t look that stout but it’s pretty tough. No doubt more bracing would make it tougher. My Robicheaux is braced this way and it’s a commercial hull.

You got it backwards. I lie to her and tell here they are absolutely necessary.....can’t possibly do it without them. I’m telling you the truth. Like most of us I will walk backwards uphill in the snow telling a lie the whole damn way if it helps me buy more tools

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
When I was saying the 3/8 or 1/2 might not be strong enough what I was really thinking about was the bending moment where it would be bolted to a tab. 3/8 stainless bolt would probably be the weak link. I know the joint itself is really stout. And no that does not include any of the tools. 1200, 200...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
Thanks for the pic gator. I assume the bottom looks the same? I was thinking the 3/8 or 1/2” both might not be up to the task of handing all the forces the rudders might see. But if you have that big single hung off a pair of 1/2” h joints then 3/8 should be plenty for the 24x48 rudders I’m going to...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP
I have seen photos of some guys running the heim joints on their rudder mounts. Some with heim and a conventional looking brace under it on the bottom mount. Never saw a heim joint on a rudder mount in this part of the world. Looking for opinions.
