Re: 220 mag converted to distributor?

I was searching some spark plug info and ran across a little mention of it. Now I have more unanswered questions. Lol. I might just have to take a ride to melbourne and pick his brain one day about it.

220 mag converted to distributor?

I remember seeing someone used an old dodge slant 6 distributor and modified it to replace the mag on a 220. Anyone have some info on this? I want to say it was water thunder that did it, but don't remember.

Re: 220 burning oil?

I have no clue about the history. What rings should I use and where can I find them? How do people not have problems just slapping new jugs on motors?

220 burning oil?

Going through oil in my 220 like crazy. Smokes out the right side quite a bit. Especially after loading on the trailer. Compression test showed 120,130,130 on that side. Plugs look like crap all the way around. What could be the issue? Ran out of daylight, gonna do a leakdown tomorrow.

Easiest way to get to it? How many bolts hold the pump in? I can't find any info on the pump.

Re: What is this hole on the accessories case on a 220 just below the tach cable?

I tapped it to a 5/16x18 and pulled an unused stud from the acc case and ran it in with some rtv.

That's really weird. This motor has run a long time with that hole open. I'm gonna rap it and plug it. Thanks for the pictures.

What is it for, is it a vent, is it supposed to be covered, and can I tap it and plug it?

Re: 220 mechanical fuel pump

It doesn't have much throw in the pump. I think if I bend the lever, it's gonna want to pass the bottom out position. The stock pumps seem to have a lot more throw for the size of the lobe on the shaft. This pump seems to be run on a smaller lobe. Maybe I'm not making sense when I'm typing. Lol

Re: 220 mechanical fuel pump

Thanks for that link. I think my pump needs the brackets that hold those baskets in. I wonder what the difference is between the horizon pump(#60321) and the valiant pump I got (#60577). I just don't like the way the lever rides on the shaft. I feel like it's going to wear it out betting on it inste...

220 mechanical fuel pump

Just got this boat on the water and the electric pump took a crap on me 5min on the water. Checked out the factory pump to see if it was usable and it's internals are junk. I did some searching and found the pump from a late 70s dodge works and I picked one up. So I noticed the lever doesn't ride on...

Re: 220 mechanical fuel pump

I know this an old post, but I just put in a dodge pump today. Did anyone notice there is a big gap between the lever and the shaft it rides on? The factory pump has a spring and a lot more travel. Also the Dodge pump only makes 5psi.
