Yep; similar is pretty much standard, and well known by anyone who owns an outboard powered boat.

That sounds reasonable to me.

I could see the benefits of using one, particularly on a boat like mine that does more sitting than running in the summertime. :thumbleft:

Garmin for sure, just be sure you’re getting a model that’s bright enough to see the screen in daylight.

Re: Swapping to Aluminum Hull

I’m running an 11 year old boat that has an aluminum hull with no poly, 100% in the salt water. Contrary to popular opinions, I won’t have on my boat. Mine has no leaks, and has run over more rock and oyster bars than many will ever see. I know a few guys that have poly on their hulls, and they all...

Re: Fuel Recommendations

I run 90 octane ethanol free gas with PRI-G fuel stabilizer in everything but my autos; which includes outboards, motorcycles, airboat, and all my smalll engine powered “stuff.”

I’ve done that for many years now, and have never had any fuel related issues with anything.

My bet is its the best product for his application Rick. You been over to DCRG shooting lately? Blu and I went to the Sportsmans Club 2 weeks ago to function test some new hardware. No Sir. The last shooting I did was an Armscor 1911 in 9mm/22TCM a couple months ago for a TE review for M1911.ORG (t...

Re: Clear coating bare aluminum, should I?

Sharkhide is a product that’s used by many pontoon boat owners to coat their pontoons after they’ve polished them, and many speak favorably of it.

I have no first hand experience with the product, as I have better things to waste my time on than polishing pontoons...

I agree.

I had an airboat years ago that would have never have run dry ground (I never even tried), but it had no trouble bumping up and over rock and oyster bars.

If you go with this, do not say the words "Air Boat" when talking with them. http://www.superslide.com/products/hoppers-bins/yellow-quartz I know it's not local to the area you asked about, but since you are looking for 3/8 this material is an opti...

Mine generally runs at 125-137.5 F, so I don’t know that the oil is getting hot enough to make an oil cooler necessary.

It’s been running in that temp range for over 11 years now (without an oil cooler.)
