Stock-vs-stock engines...one-eighty. Horsepower to weight ratio, a 180hp 0-360 Lyc will out perform a stock Continental g.p.u. with the same
boat combo.

180's are strong motors for four cylinders.

I have friends that have car motor boats that run through Gardners when its dry. The one is a Cottonmouth, small block w/2-1gear no problem. The other a big block boat with a belt. His boat will stick when the polymer gets too hot. I also know guys that have a/c boats that are crazy fast that will r...

The purpose of dual magneto design is redundency. For pilot-passenger safety, if one mag fails in flight you can still make an emergency landing on engine power. Full engine power is available only with both mags switched on. Toggling between mags on startup will give you magneto and system info-plu...

I would do a compression check on your cylinders. If one (or more)cylinders are worn or a compression ring is bad the blowby caused will
pressurize the crankcase and pump oil out the tube( it's gonna go somewhere). Just an idea to check.

Good luck.

Olf Art you are right. They are breaking it off. Let me tell you this little story. My brother had to go down to Miami for a job a couple of months ago. Chevron reps will tell you that their chemical package they add to crude oil to make DELO400 is the best in the industry. They will also tell you that everybody purchases the same crude oil and what makes the difference is quality of the chem. pkg.. We used to use and sell Delo products and then swi...

That's right. I had to fix the 3/8 one and ended up replacing it.
They worked fine for installation but removal was where I screwed it up.

JD, I sent you another P.M. check it out, hope it helps. About 0-360 and 0-540 jugs I would defer to the pros as to what you can do there. I do know they are the same cubic inch, 90. And with a combonation of piston, aspiration(carb, injection, turbo, etc) you make horsepower. And then there are the...

JD, The engine timing is all gear train. Magneto timing is a different story. There another thread covering that currently. But if you had issues there I'm thinking it would hard start or run rough or try to diesel( run on) when you shut it down. Mags are set with the engine off using a timing box s...
