Re: Any airboats in Iowa ?

Larry Sims has a nice airboat and lives in Knoxville too. He is the president of the bowfishing association. I think he owns a production company that films bow hunting and other fishing events. If you see his boat you will know it for sure. We'll get together later this year. Tim

Re: France terror attack.

Olf Art, I just bought my first car motor boat and sold the Boat with the GPU. That was a sweet boat and still running strong when I sold it. The local Sheriff was in my Police Academy Class and is a good friend. I'm sure he would give me approval to carry or purchase a gun. I just don't think I nee...

Re: France terror attack.

The First Amendment give me the right to keep and bear a Bible.
The Second Amendment gives me the right to keep and bear arms.

I don't have to get permission from some the Government to buy a Bible.
So, why do I need permission from the Government to buy a gun?

If it is the Sensenich 72 Q it can turn 3000 rpm. I had mine set at 2700 max on my stock 220 GPU. Nice prop.

Re: ANODIZED BALLISTIC GEAR BOX

Terry (PTR34) must be having a good week. I just ordered the 2.7 Ballistic box from him and he threw in a new set of NGR blades for it. This is my first car motor boat. It is a 383 with 425 HP. It had a 2.1 Precision box and a new 78x46 Sensenich wood prop. The box was too loud for me. I'm getting t...

Where are you in Iowa? I live just east Of Des Moines. I currently have a 13 foot Laser hull with a 220 GPU but I'm heading to Florida next week to get my first Chevy small block boat.

Don't forget me here in Des Moines. With the drought last year and probably again this year, I had the only boat that could get up and down the river. That included people pulling their Kayaks.

Re: THUNDER ON THE LOOP!!!

I just bought an 11 foot airboat in central Florida and was wondering if anyone coming to Thunder on the Loup could tow it to Des Moines? Of course I'll pay to get it here. PM me or call 515 240-3430. Thanks, Tim.

Re: Trim Tab?

The electric one is easier to install and holds up better in my opinion. Floral City Airboat has them for $239. That includes everything you need.

Re: Aircat Tomcat - Possible Corvair Power - Newbie

I agree that you should keep the cooling tins on the engine. The one I had for my experimental aircraft had them removed but that was for a plane. I'd keep them for use on the airboat. Like someone said, it will save your engine in the long run.

Re: Aircat Tomcat - Possible Corvair Power - Newbie

That TomCat is a heavy hull. A corvair would work fine on that hull. You might have to do some work on the cage but it should work. Since it's already setup for an airboat, you should be in pretty good shape. Nothing wrong with a VW engine either. I had a Corvair for an experimental plane I built. I...

Looks like a Holley 2210 from a 70's 350 Chevy or an old Dodge. Here's a site that shows that carburetor:

Re: (((((MISSING GIRL)))))))

Polygraphs are worthless. In fact they can be damaging to a case. The examiner may be good or he may be bad at interrupting the results. The courts don't like them and neither do I. That is my opinion from a 33 year police officer, now retired. I hope for the best for this family.

Capt Don, I was at Camp Carroll in 67 and 68 also. I was with MCB-5 (Navy Sea-Bees). The year before I was in Da Nang. I finally got smart and flew Jets with the Iowa Air Guard for 20 years. Dong Ha was a little rough.

Re: 220 lost oil pressure

Glad you found your problem. On the magneto I recommend getting a buzz box and time the engine correctly. Pull all the top plugs first, so the engine will not start. Make sure the engine is on the compression stroke, then find TDC. Mark your flywheel. Now back it off 30° and make another mark on the...

Those are called through bolts. If you look at the other side of the case you will see those bolts turning. Look closely and you will quickly figure it out.
