I have an 0-470-13 and am looking at a I0-470-c for parts and the injection system. Can i swap parts between the two engines? i've never worked with fuel injection do i need special cylinders or do the injectors screw into the primer port? Re: 220 Overheating - I'm about to give up.

just a few thoughts, first, what kind of oil are you running? have you done a comeplete compression check on the motor? what happens to the oil pressurs as the temp goes up? could you post a recent picture of the motor? theremight be somethin in the setup. I'm sure youve gone through all this stuff ...

hey pc, thanks for the piston info, do you have any sugestions for cost and good places to buy? The only place I've found so far is nfs and $250 a piston plus rings seems a little dear (or is that about right?). sidebar- if I can't call you hot without getting a chuckle how about groovy???? :l...

hey pc, I had a day like yours last week. I was up in northern bc just south of the alaska border and we got the cold you guys had last week. No electricity to plug in the truck, went to bed last night and it was still warm at -28, woke up this morning to -48. It took me six hours to get the truck g...

0-470-13, stockk and freshwith about 25 hours since yellow tag major. 225 hp @ 2600 running a 70/36 paddle. It's a good match but was looking for a little more top end over bottom

It's kind of like draging a small bucket in the water, not really a brake.

Re: generation 3 electronic ignition module

hey Bob. keep in mind that the brake is just a plate that drops at the back of the boat, the more down pressure you apply the better it works. It will help you track and can get the boat back in line if it gets away from you. The best i can describe it would be to pretend you had an anchor tied to t...

i understand that a stick prop is more for high end and a paddle prop is more for bottom end but don't understand where these 3 and more blade props come into the equation. I run a paddle prop that has more bottom end push than i need and would like more top end. At the same time i don't want to giv...

All it take is a little talk about customs to make me a little nervous    , I get a little anxious just thinking about it. Re: generation 3 electronic ignition module

Bob, do I know what you’re talking about! we mostly run on the lake but have a few land portages that can get downright scary depending on the conditions. that is exactly where the brake really shines. keeping in mind there is still a lot of slip you get enough brake to keep the nose going where you...

Re: generation 3 electronic ignition module

Sorry Wild Bill, i missed your location on the post. Firstly, i don't want to take any credit for the design because a guy named Lenard Roi came up with the brake and boat design years ago with a full history that I wont go into. The brake works well but it's kind of like reverse on a boat, you know...

Re: generation 3 electronic ignition module

thanks for the comment. My mags have never failed but I like the idea of electronic ignition for stronger spark, smoother running and easier starting. Is there any system out there that works on a 470 that you may like? the plate on the back of the boat is a brake and a trim tab working of a cable r...

Re: building old 470-13 for power??

thanks, thats great news. do you know what I'd have to run for gas at 8.6 :1 ? I ran 94 octane from the gas station and the motor ran to hot, right know I run regular pump gas with lead type addative.
thanks will
