I always thought the one big advantage to the electronic ignitions was the timing advanced as the engine needed it.....if they tell ya not to use it and have a fixed timing at 25 degrees wouldn't ya just have an expensive glorified magneto ignition ?

my 360 has had the long studs removed and a 1/4" thick plate with a gasket and four 1/4 x20 bolts to hold it in place

those are 1200 series mags and should spark big time by hand no drill needed if they are right....I run them on my 200 and they are really hot when they are setup right but they are a different animal to setup than the 20/200 series mags.....send them with the carb and ill get'em right for ya...you ...

my neighbor has a 220/520 engine (not gtsio cyls) and has the 500 holley carb and it runs perfect and is easy to tune...it has the log intake with an inverted "Y" with the carb right out in front of the mags

slick is a brand name not a type of mag...impulse is a mag that retards the timing to fire the engine.....shower of sparks is used in place of the impulse coupling assembly......I remember waaay back when an impulse mag was refered to as a Bendix and a straight or non impulse mag was referred to as ...

if that is the Circle H hulls from Alabama my buddy has a 12 footer with poly and it is a really good hull, runs fine no hop no trim tab ...but it is not cut down and has a DD carmotor on it though

the 290...125hp stock uses an MA-3SPA carb ….I believe the biggest engine to use that carb is the C-145 Continental but I don't see a lot of improvement in performance with just a carb change....jmo

usually the main nozzle/jet is the only difference......I cannot find that 10-2153 number carb any where in the Marvel Schebler book...imo the best carb for that engine would be the #3 carb for an 0-200 cont or an 0-235 lyc….both produced the same hp and rpm as the franklin...knowing that I do have ...

looks like a narrow deck straight valve 0-360 Lycoming....with a really piss poor spark arrestor set up...lol

I agree with diesel250….if ya have fuel, air, spark and compression and it wont fire I would look at the engine/magneto timing

welcome to the world of Frankenstein mags and carbs.....all the cases in the 20/200 series are basically the same ...the tags are from factory assembly......the s6ln-23 mag is oem on the 220 gpu but can easily be converted to a 4cyl mag by changing internal parts and the setup....so to answer your q...

I had a 3 blade warp on a 65 cont on an old wildcat 11' hull I used for duck hunting..it worked great and no it would not run the hill...

I picked it up years ago from an A&P friend .......there is one for sale on e-bay #7446...but it may be for the smaller carbs not sure without looking it up ...try messaging twister here on SA ....he may be able to help ya out
