Thanks agian Frank (GLADESMAN), you have opened our eyes, to yet another of the not so fine ideas, which will cause detrimental harm to our precious eco-system. Without these notifications, most would have no idea, what is really happening. Keep up the good work. :salute: :proud: :florida: :salute:

That set up is pretty close to where that 454 is gonna make some H.P. A 78LXR56 should be close (if ordering new, I would have an 80 x 60 woodie). When you want to upgrade, look ud DANTHEAIRBOATMAN, he will treat you right on a new prop. You will probably get a ton of feedback about which prop is th...

Re: 0540

You can buy a digital level, from Home Depot, for about $25. It will do the same as the protractor and be accurate, to within 1/10th of a degree. As for the RPM.... without a tach, you will just be guessing, based on sound of mach tip speed. be sure wou have a 'open plane" in the rotational pat...

Re: Prop size\ gear

Like previously said, go with a 454 Mark iv or v block and build it from there. Unless you want to venture into a small block, I would say, if you have the money to spend, you can't go wrong with a purpose built SBC. I have a 383 with 448 hp. and 496 lb. tq , coupled to a 2.38 with a 2 blade Master ...

You should call DANTHEAIRBOATMAN, he has a nice big glass hull w/ poly and some stainless rigging to go with it, for a SBC and a gear reduction.

Re: need help finding a motor cover....?

If you are looking for one to use while not in motion, just get a "spare tire vinyl cover" about $25 for a good one and they last a couple years. Like the ones on the back 5th tire of Jeeps, one for a full size tire, covers the entire top of engine on my 496. If you want one to mount for u...
