Re: small block chevy 350

Air in cooling system? Whenever the radiator is drained or even when it over heats and loses coolant, air takes it's place. It's a little harder to get the air out on an airboat, because the radiator is mounted lower than the water pump and even lower than the fill/expansion tank. You have to run i...

Re: small block chevy 350

The only way mine over heats that fast is if I sling a belt off! Might want to check and make sure you haven't done the same and that a belt is still there... Timing was also a good thing to check. Oh, one other thing...make sure you have all of the air purged out of the cooling system! Air trapped ...

Re: 14x7 cottonmouth cant get boat on plane need help please

You're gonna need a different prop.. That's too much prop for that direct drive. IMO I would look for a prop anywhere from 68-72" and preferably something adjustable, i.e. a carbon fiber prop.

Raise the back of the motor to raise the nose and vise versa, lower the back of the motor to lower the nose. I'm not sure by ur thread if by plowing you mean riding on the nose or heavy in the rear..

I would have at least 3.. One at the back of your motor, one near the front of the engine stand/center of rigging and one in the front.

Re: Loughman this weekend??

They're having a poker run and airboat obstacle course, along with live bands, dunk tank, food, raffles, bounce house, etc to raise money for Brittany's wish(for kids going through leukemia treatment). Poker run is early, like 9 or 10 and obstacle course is sometime in the afternoon..

Thanks for the help! I'll start with the cheapest and easiest first and go from there.. I'm hoping to have it all dialed in before Loughmans next weekend.

New to me, aluminum hull..

I just got done swapping everything out from my old glass hull to this aluminum hull. I took it for a test ride yesterday and it porpoises.. My glass hull did too and I put a shim under the back edge of the poly and that helped a lot! My question is... I know you can bend the lip on the transom down...

Re: 350 DD vibration

I'm having the same issues and so far I've replaced the flywheel and balancer without any luck. I'm running a warp drive and think that it may be outta balance. I'll have to take it off and run it to find out. Motor runs fine, but I hope it's not a bent crank..

Re: DD350 vibration

I'd like to know too.. My 350 has a vibration and I've replaced the flywheel and balancer. I'm thinking it may be the warp drive. I'm wondering if I should have it balanced..?

Re: degree of pitch

I'd say 7 degrees would be a safe place to start.. Most 350dd are around there. Then adjust up or down til you get it where you want it.

I don't have a new vortec or anything, just an older small block. But I noticed my flywheel wobbling as well and thought that may be causing a vibration I'm having.. I bought a new replacement one and it still wobbles lol. Unless u want to upgrade to the JW wheel, you may not see an improvement. Def...

Re: 9 blade saber

It may be a harmonic balancer issue as well... Just throwing out ideas. My setup vibrates just above idle to about 1/2 throttle. I'm running a 5 blade warp and 350dd. I haven't messed with pitch or anything and it just seems to be getting worse, so I bought a harmonic balancer today to see if that f...

I must of lucked out then!!! No lie, I built mine for a little over 2k! Down the road I got a different hull and put a nice paint job on it for about another 1k.. I did however find that one boat that had trailer, rigging, v6, ivo prop, etc so I was able to trade/sell what I didn't want and buy what...
