Re: Foot steer

Blackpowderscout just bought a Predator with a 520 conversion on it and he rode it last weekend on the Chain. He says it's a beast, so I'm lookin' forward to a little time in the saddle! :)

Well in this case, the fact of the matter is that it is not a light boat. His own assessment was that, "I have a very heavy 4 seat 14' Combee . . ". Olf, I have a great deal of respect for you and your opinions. Still, mine are different on those two points. The prevailing presumption that a 500 Ca...

It will if the boat is light, and it'll burn a lot less gas.

Re: Big block 400

Love me some GM 400 small blocks ..... I'd love to find a cache of some somewhere in a warehouse, still in the crate. As a DD motor on a light 13' boat one of them would be killer.
I'd throw some roller rocker arms and an MSD ignition at it and run it till it dropped.

Hey Ken, don't worry about that O-ring. Just give me that 1100 and I'll take care of it for you. Paul, if it came down to a choice between that old 20 ga. or Vivian, she might be in trouble. That said, I think 'blackpowderscout' has already picked out a spot for it in his gun safe for when I fall o...

I will say my Mini14 has never once cycled improperly, jammed, miss fired or anything short of 100% reliability for over 30 years. I love the bolt design of the mini it's big brother is pretty sweet too. I know what you're sayin, Dave. I have an 1100 Remington LT20 shotgun I've had for 30 years. I ...

Re: Looking for a first boat

My best advice would be to do a lot of reading on here before you hand over any money. Go to a scheduled ride event (they're posted on here), talk to some seasoned airboaters,
ask some questions, and most important listen to what they tell you !!! :)

Nothing I have is registered. That said, if it comes to a shoot out in my front yard then so be it. They'd have to step over me to take anything here.
I'm serious as a heart attack about that. I've lived under Liberty far too long to worry about what Liberal politicians might try to do to me.

I don't like carpet either and have treated 2x8 boards on my trailer, boat does not slide well at all, will have to try that trick, thank you. Bud, the trick to it is to have that wax hot when you spread it on so that it permeates the grain of the board itself. The last time I did it I bought a pot...

Re: No more wood

An 'old school' trick for wooden runners on a trailer deck is to get out your propane burner, drop three or four block of paraffin in a pot (you can find it at a lot of craft shops) and melt it down. Then, get a pretty good quality 4" disposable brush and somebody to help you. What you're gonna do i...

Folks this is a serious request ..... I lived up there for quite a few years. The upper St. Johns has two 2' tides twice a day in good times, and because that river flows North it may not return to normal water levels for at least another 3-5 days because of the rainfall South of there. I've seen fl...
