Re: MATTHEW!!!!!

I'm dumping mine on the ground tucked away. Taking the rudders, the seat cushions and prop off and wrapping a tarp around the motor, not the cage. Also gonna leave the plug in. Good thinkin leaving the plug in. Don't forget to take the battery out if it's below the shear line if the hull ..... you ...

Re: Ideal boat for ice fishing

Boat? I'm thinkin more like a 450 Yamaha snowmobile to hitch to that ice shack. I've only been ice fishing a couple of times with some old friends up in Minnesota years ago, but the feeling up there was that if the ice wasn't stable enough to do it that way then you didn't need to be out there in th...

Re: Rotax

I'm getting ready to post an ad in the classifieds .... waiting to get photos taken. I'll have two U25-B Zenoah ultralight motors for sale shortly. One has bee run approx. 40 min. on a break-in stand, the other is new in the box (never run), and there's a new 2.5/1 reduction drive, pusher prop and m...

Re: It's Here!

This prop is sick. I cannot get over how quiet and smooth it is at cruise. I haven't run flat out yet but seems like a beast. Unfortunately, I don't have a tach so not pushig it hard yet. Put ten degrees in and going by ear, needs another half or degree. The most interesting thing is how different ...

Re: Gun Pre-Crime ... Preemtive Guilt is here?

I've never applied for concealed carry for just eventualities like these. If they ever come for our guns, the CCP holders will be the first place they go to because they have a pretty good expectation that they'll find hardware there. Nothing I own is registered.

Re: 8cyl gpu convert or not

Before JC Stanley passed (the original gpu converter) I was talking to him about this. He said the torque was unreal. He did say it loved fuel but you would have 400hp with some serious torque. My experience with gpu cranks are that they are plenty strong...until they are turned. You can't build an...

Re: 8cyl gpu convert or not

Nothing sounds cooler out in the marsh than a 720 though. You can recognize the sound of one a long way off. I guess it mostly depends on how fat your wallet is, but they sure sound and look cool. Rather than changing the cylinders, you might want to study the intake setup. Some mods there would cos...

Re: 454 DD carb

Oh, and by the way ...... roller rockers. Not for the fact that you'll only be turning it at around 3,000 rpm. but because a set would free-up the engine, protect your cam and lifters, and on a big block would probably be worth some extra torque. It would also cut oil shear and allow the engine to r...

Re: New Hunting Handgun

Ken the recoil is not bad to me but you can sure tell your shooting a magnum cartridge good bit of muzzle flash and you can really feel the shock wave around you on the full house loads, with the new powder that is coming out 1500 + fps will not be a problem with a 155 gn bullet Wow! Good on ya man...

Sniper, how's the recoil on that piece .... something tells me that the angle of the grip is near perfect to help prevent too much rise.

Re: Question About Length

I had a 3 blade 72" Q on my last boat. Don at Sensenich swapped a 2" larger extended hub for mine and I picked up a lot more push.
I like low cruise rpm .... less gas, less sound, so it worked great for me.

Re: stainless muffler and mandran bends

There's an old trick a man showed me once that works pretty good if you don't have access to a mandrel bender ...... you grease the pipe to be bent with a dab of vasaline and then wrap it in a sheet of newspaper when you put it in the pipe bender. It's not near as slick a bend as the mandrel is, but...

Re: stainless muffler and mandran bends

Outlaw, there's an old trick that they used to use in aircraft that might work for you ...... just an idea. After you've tightened down the band clamps snugly on an exhaust system, drill a small hole on two sides of a connection, drilling through both the band clamp and the connecting pipes (a cobal...

Outstanding, Dylan. Nothing like an airboat for this type of work. I was there for Ike and tried to get the USAR Team to authorize the use of some airboat resources I had set up enroute. They did not approve its use and we did our searches through neighborhoods in chest-high water. I could hear air...
