Re: What kind of HP do you get with a O-320 case and O-360 Jugs?

If it has 180 (0-360) jugs it must have a 180 (0-360) crank. It is no longer a 0-320 at all. The 0-360's have a .5" longer stroke, hints the .5" longer barrel. If you had the long jugs on a 0-320 crank the pistons would be well over a half inch from the top of combustion chamber at top dead center.....

Re: fiberglass repair

Every Composite prop out there is built with epoxy and all Carbon private Aircraft's are built out of epoxy as well. That should say enough.

Re: fiberglass repair

I am sorry but the first two posts couldnt be further away from being right. Polyester is cheap and Brittle the strength is no where near that of epoxy. Polyester is cheap boat yard resin. Epoxy is space age. If anyone were to try and build a Carbon hull with polyester resin it would be so brittle t...

Re: Race suggestions

I just think ride boat class is pointless when you have people building RACE BOATS just for ride boat class. Step hulls, with a second seat bolted to the foot stand. Sand baggers.

Re: Race suggestions

Everybody seems to be most interested in the fast boats. I am not trying to snub anybody, but in an effort to try to grow the sport and get more fans, maybe there should only be a few classes that would make for an interesting 3-4 hours of racing. Anybody could step up into these classes if they wa...

I say just leave the rideboats home for Marsh Racing. It would help the day go by faster and keep the action more exciting. Jmo

Re: SO WHAT WERE THE RACE RESULTS??

Jimmy had the throttle sticking on him and a less then par brake, he did not feel comfortable for unlimited so they did not run that class.

Isnt that what I said Jeff. :drunken:

Get it straight.

Re: SO WHAT WERE THE RACE RESULTS??

Waterthunder won raceboat. Very close race with Rattler. Jimmy had the throttle sticking on him and a less then par brake, he did not feel comfortable for unlimited so they did not run that class (he was almost running off the end of the track with no Nitrous). The boat had never hit the water till ...

Re: HOW MANY, HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET THROWN OFF OF YOUR BOAT

Thank goodness I have not thrown my Lady out of the boat.... she would probably want all her $$$ back for what she put into it. But I did throw my girls best friend out of the boat once on the way to bull dozer. Trails were drying up and realy skinny for the wide running bottom of my boat....

If you are confident in your motor, set it to turn 3100 and see if that helps. Jmo

Re: Supermodified class

So there are no power adder's allowed in supermodified (nos, superchargers or Turbo's). Correct? And you can only run either pump gas or Av gas, NO c12, or U4 or any other race fuel. Correct? Not that it matter's for me for this race, but maybe for the next one even though the big Cubes will still m...

Re: NEED INPUT ON NEW HULL!

Vinylester resin, and epoxy primer instead of Gelcoat. That would be two huge steps into making a lighter and stronger hull. If I were buying a new fiberglass hull I would want it to be STRAIGHT right out of the Mold. I picked up a barely used step hull (Hawk COPY/splash), and it was no where near f...

Re: Question on Lycoming 125

Go with the 160. Sounds like it may be a h2ad motor from Chipper?. They run about as good as a strong 180. Worth the extra $ imo.

Re: wich is better fiberglass or aluminum

If I had enough $$$ I would have my buddy Bobby make an all new step hull. He created the Matrix, check out the Pro version off hulls. He use to build Carbon airplanes, he lives in Palmbay.

Re: Lycoming 200 Angle Valve

I agree with Plum. I have only been running my first airboat for a year, but it is a 180 straight valve and it runs just like the day I bought it. Mean while I know a guy who runs his angle valve 4 cylinder less hours then I put on mine, and he has gone through 4 cylinders in the time I have owned m...

Re: STEPP N UP step hulls

I talked with Pete a couple of weeks ago, he seem's like a great guy and listened to what I wanted. I would realy like to see some good pics of his hulls. He explained some of the things he did with the step and it sounds good, but pics would be great. The hull I want needs to be strong enough to ru...
