Re: Lycoming rear engine mount

You can buy a very nice and simple mount from any of the major parts suppliers on this site. It comes with the alternator mount already on it. Works with all the narrow deck four cyl. ie southern enterprises, Schmidt ,diamondback or classic.

Re: Pump gas and aircraft engines.

It's only 20-30 dollars more to fill up with av gas vs car gas. If that's too much every time then it's prob best to get a car motor.

Does anyone know why I can't play any of the videos posted in the video section. I have an iPhone and it always says safari can't download or play the file. Trying to play some off the old videos like grants warp drive or the one of bulletproof running for example. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Starter problem in cold weather

Couldn't disagree more about using welding cables. A welding cable of any size will carry more current than a thhn, or thwn or larger strand conductor of an equivilant size. That is one reason they are commonly used for temp power situations. You can run less cables and still have the same ampacity....

I just stumbled on this thread and saw that you said you were from ft myers. If you are planning to run the grass with a sled go by and talk to glen at southern enterprises. He can tell you how to set it up.

Re: One last chance for the D2000 series mag! AKA Siamese ma

3000 series is what you need for that h2ad. 2000 is no bueano. Make sure the contact surface between cap and case is not oxidized also. I haven't run elec on my h2 so I don't have any input for that but I am running the 3000 and have been since 2007 with no issues from moisture or heavy rain.

Re: Evidence of Taxpayer Dollars Wasted on Everglades Bridgi

THere are too many people in fl to be able to put it all back like it should be.jmo but I think all of 41 should be either turned into a bridge or demolished. Same way with the alley. Then fill in all the spreader canals. Let water flow from STAs south. As for the video, of course it's gonna flow th...

Re: Evidence of Taxpayer Dollars Wasted on Everglades Bridgi

I'm for preserving what we have left so it can be enjoyed by my kids their kids and everyone else's. But a lot of what was said above is either incomplete or inaccurate. Most people really have no idea just how much water there is to be managed.

Re: Evidence of Taxpayer Dollars Wasted on Everglades Bridgi

@ wildcard I know a lot more than you think probably more than you. I just get tired of hearing nothing but negative. Offer up a real solution for once. I deal with it everyday. I would love to see everything put back the way it's supposed to be but that's unrealistic. It has to be managed.

The ones Harold's talking about were a copy of the Taylor hulls. Every experience I've had with a Kevlar hull where just what you said , break easy when bent. Easy to put a hole in and hard to fix.

Re: car boat adds

That's why I said each have their place. I'm not totally against car motors but some of the retarted statements he says are just rediculous. There is a reason for the gearbox. Cause a DD is a turd without it. But with it...def a power house.

Re: car boat adds

Dirtymax its not hp to hp its cubic inch to cubic inch.

I'll put my 320 cu in up against his 350 cu in ,same boat same riggin
Dd to dd and out perform him in every category he wants. And DDPWRD my motor was put together by lycoming in 1998 so is that new enough to meet your standards.

Re: car boat adds

I can't figure out why you think we dump so much money in them. You can buy a 0470 still with airtime for $4000. That's a thousand more I have to put into the boat. If you need a gear box then your prop is more than an aircraft. If you can't afford the extra 20$ it costs to fill your tank with avgas...

Re: car boat adds

DDPWRD I got a stock 320 cu in motor on a 12-6 hull with a 17 gal tank single rear driver and Double front driver. Pretty much a typical boat. If you were to put a stock dd 350 gm motor in its place it would be a dog. But if I were to try and put my motor on a 14-15 ft boat it would take me forever ...

Are you talking tour boats or what? And I b...
