I'm glad I did not go with a AC if they are like a Harley. I ride a BMW and I get tired of setting around waiting on my friends to get their Harleys going.

Re: The Nebraska Airboaters Association Meeting Feb 6, 2010

We need to have everyone on board now so we can keep from loosing our rights and freedoms. It is always harder and more costly to get them back after they have been taken away. Just ask the bikers that have been trying to get the helmet law removed. Also look at what is going on in Florida. Do not t...

Yes they do have lobbyists. They do the normal stuff. When the Goverment trys to pass laws that impact the boaters and sportsman they help protect us. I am not the one that has all the infomation on what they do. The cost is well worth joining.

Re: Jobs/Careers

Great thread, I have enjoyed this. I grew up on a cattle & horse ranch here in the sand hills of Nebraska. Worked at more different professions than I can count. Most for not very long. I then settled into over the road truck driving and being an owner operator. Got to go on an airboat for the f...

Re: IVO props

A friend of mine has a 502 with a belt drive and a 6 blade IVO. He seems to be happy with his. I have a 400 DD with a 3 blade IVO and I could only turn 2400 RPM's but I got stuck all the time. I backed the blades off and got up to 3000 RPM's and could get around better but the blades flexed more and...

Re: mopar boat im looking into

Hey Redneck, It looks like it could be a heck of a good find. My boat took a bunch of elbow grease to get it going but it was worth it. If you get that one and get it going you will have to come over and run on the Platte River with us some week end.

Re: HORSEPOWER,DYNO'S AND PROPS!

I have found all of this very interesting but being a newbie I would like some opinons on my next prop for this next summer. I have a stock sbc 400 DD on a heavy hull 14 ft boat. I have room for up to a 72" prop. I need to find something that will help me get on and off of the sandbars up here ...

Re: IVO props??

I have a 3 blade IVO on my boat. This is my first airboat and have been running it for a full season. I have a DD SBC 400 on a 14 ft boat. It was set up and I could only turn 2400 RPM's when I got the boat. I ran it this way most of the summer. I had to watch where I stopped so I could get going aga...

Re: WHIRLWIND narrow whisper tip test

cntry141iq: Thank you for the reply. I am still trying to learn about these dadburn machines. It took all summer for me to get the boat running better. Reducing the pitch of the blade to get more thrust did not sound right to me. But the more RPM's created more trust from some where.

Re: WHIRLWIND narrow whisper tip test

cntry141iq, I am thinking about changing my prop this next spring. I would like another opinon. I currently have a 400 SBC on a heavy 14ft hull, direct drive. My current prop is a 72in 3 blade Magnum IVOPROP. After I adjusted the pitch to allow my engine to run up to 3000 RPM's I was getting around ...

Re: wire on airboat cage

I am looking for some wire to put on cage. I have conduit for my loops. I would like to find some 4 x 4 wire but have not been able to locate any. Also what is the best galvized or non galvized? I am in Nebraska.
