Re: Wireless headset

Technically it isn't but for the most part it was that or dogs let loose on heads or a radar dog + chase.

Using these can't be as exciting as shooter and driver screaming directions back and forth while chasing a big ole buck through whatever gets in the way. :)

Re: L-28 Project in Works "canal plugs"

:rebel: so if I am reading this right they plan on filling in the dogleg /micro wave tower canal ,is that correct. :rebel: Maybe word search the Enviro Assmt (EA) for "plugs" - there's also a map showing their locations. My cursory review lead me to believe they will be upgrading the existing plugs...

L-28 Project in Works "canal plugs"

Not looking to cause alarm but a few may have an interest in this. Some folks may use L-28 w/airboats or motorboats. Main purpose of this project is to move water South and West of US 41 between 40 and 50 mile bends to alleviate high water situation in conservation areas to the East.. This link http...

Re: Airboating in DEEP WATER glades

My advise would be to enjoy what we have and quit whining and trying to promote guilt trips on everyone. Makes me freekin' sick to hear all this self loathing bovine feces (BS). Self-hatred (also called self-loathing) refers to an extreme dislike or hatred of oneself, or being angry at or even preju...

Re: Airboating in DEEP WATER glades

Truth be known though I do believe FWC or SFWMD are who shut the area down.

As far as I know Big Cypress Preserve is still open to access.

Boils down to if the Feds ain't shafting us the State is.

Re: Save the Culture of Airboating

Maybe back up to precisely 1989 when the Everglades Park Expansion Act of 1989 was passed. Anyone concerned here should go and study/read every word of that document to see where we actually stand in the East Glades South of US 41. Yes it is bad what happened to Airboaters in that area but get THIS ...

Re: Save the Culture of Airboating

If all outsdoors folks would do that for a while the government would be on their knees in a month - once folks show them they are serious and committed.

Government will suck or do anything for a buck.

Re: Save the Culture of Airboating

Wow Olf, I don't know you that well but that post was sort of surprising. I mean a little civil disobedience (airboat ride in closed area) being equated to anarchy - I'm not sure I can agree with that. Personally for years I have believed a strong boycott was the right road to recovering what has be...

Re: Save the Culture of Airboating

Nothing a real total sporting goods purchase boycott couldn't cure in a short time period. Is anyone complaining now up for that - I've mentioned a boycott here before with NO takers - so in the end it doesn't look like there are many oppressed Americans even willing to quit buying or repairing or u...

Re: Save the Culture of Airboating

Hell Yes - invade the place just like the steeeenkin' NPS did. Easy for me to say since I don't have an airboat anymore.. Maybe start in Homestead area and run NW or remove a section of guard rail. I have seen some airboat trails running South of the new bridge - they got in somehow???? Some here kn...

Understood - even though the pressure to buy is serious. Have researched rebuilt title and read a bunch - I know "rebuilt " hurts resale - that has to be why the deal looks so good - as much car as anyone can expect for low $$$ - but "rebuilt" + So Fla is epi-center of auto fraud any way it can be d...

Wow - what a cowboy he was on an airboat - he was lucky to survive his younger days.

I thought I had gonads when running an airboat until seeing him do the gainer back flip dismount off of his.
